Just checked out the deviant site. As an Avs fan, I LOVE the Roy and Sakic H&P cards you did.

Oh, didn't know they were limited, someone posted they got quite a few. I went to try and order, and all were sold out.

I know people like ordering 20-30 copies, but how about you cut it down to like 10 until people can order..jeesh..probably the same people who put up 10 copies at once on flea..

I don't begrudge anyone buying up multiple copies, we all do that on certain books. I guess I would have liked to have gotten 1-2 eccc for less than $50 each which is what I paid for them on ebay.

if something has no limit then go ahead and order as many as you want imo, game on. i agree 110%. my problem comes when a place like this limits you to two. they are doing it for a reason, and then people have to circumvent the rules and come up with all kinds of little tricks to get more than the allotment allows which is super lame. i mean how desperate are you to make a buck that you need to make 20 fake orders, and try to screw everyone else over. there are plenty of other ways to make money in this hobby as me and you well know. that is what get's my goat more than anything.

The thing about this forum is that the secret is out, to everybody. The majority of lurkers are probably people from the other Various card forums on this site. They see a thread hyping a book like East of West like they prospect a baseball player like Mike Trout for instance. Except instead of hoping to pull a Trout in one $90 box of cards they can buy 30-40 Trouts in #1 comic books for the same price as ONE box.

Knowing that there are many busters out there who buy by the case (sometimes multiple cases) reaching around $3,000 plus for ONE product of cards...it's not hard to see why their are obviously so many lurker.

Hell, if I can buy 50 of one book for $150 and sell them for $50 apiece 6 months later (which is faster turnaround than prospecting if you think about it)...you're netting $2500, a profit of $2350...and even more if you get into grading.

That's how $150 can pay for $2500 worth of wax. It's not hard to see why this board has jumped the shark, be real people!!

very good point. The fact is that most posters on these boards have 1000's of posts on the various sportscard threads. When people like brentandbecca decide to venture over to the comics world THAT will become a problem. Sportscard large buyers buy 50_+ cases of products that are $1000/ case. For the most part , the roi on a case is 50% IF you are lucky and most people are not lucky. Pre-ordering books at 40-50% of retail has very little to no downside. SO, an individual who would normally buy several cases of Exquisite at $1500-$2000/ case can look to ordering 1000 books that already have a retail of $2000 and IF it hits can return 2-3x's overnight. Having the Comics thread moved up with the rest of the threads was not in your best interest. Anyhoo...

Jumped the shark? LOL

It will jump the shark for card-whores who think they can do this without doing any research or understanding what is a good story arc in a comic book.. Sure they may make some money on a ASM 700, or an EoW type book, but have no clue and they end up getting stuck with 50-100 copies of something like PP #10 or Snapshot and end up saying screw it.

go ahead and let them. 99% of them are gonna waste their money. i assure you if people are doing that they will lose money in the long run. it takes a lot more common sense than that, and the days of buying books and them turning into 50.00 books next month are over now. the bubble is about to burst. you will never see east of west or helheim at 50 bucks, and if it does it will be years not months. hell east of west and helheim are still having trouble selling for double cover regularly.

i only got back into the hobby the beginning of the this year after taking a long break, but i've learned a lot since then and realize that this sh!t is chess not checkers most of the time.

there are no slam dunks anymore, and you have to do your homework if you want to make any decent money consistently. no one is buying 150.00 worth of comics on wednesday and turning it into a 2500 case of cards, if they are patient they might be able to turn it into a case of some 2015 product if they are lucky.

i do agree that the lurkers are annoying and that is why i'm glad some members have gone to pm's on things like this, but to think it is that easy is laughable, but by all means go ahead and load up and flood the market. the faster the bubble bursts, the faster things will go back to normal
