Default Sixth Gun Question

I am thinking of selling my whole run 1-present plus sons of the gun 1 and 2 (so far) on the Bay, but am unsure what I could get for them. I have heard #1 is going for $300 alone but I find that hard to believe. What should I do? I did not know how much I could get if I sold them all as a lot since there was a new lot of them all listed but seller is asking a lot for them and it doesn't include the new mini.

Before you sell any of them, get #1 graded. It's well worth the time and money.

You can do a search under Sixth Gun and check just the sold listings. I typically average out the last four sales to determine the approximate going rate for any particular title.

I have never gotten anything graded before, and know nothing about the process. I am not too keen on the idea of sending my books off and not knowing when I am getting them back. I go to conventions every year and I thought CGC used to do on site grading but I am not sure if they still do that.

They do at some conventions for modern comics.

You can check out their FAQs here: Certified Guaranty Company, LLC - FAQs

That will give you an idea of turnaround and submission.

As for if you should be willing to do it, check this out:

Ebay non-graded sells for $164: The Sixth Gun 1 First Print NBC TV Show Coming Soon | eBay

Ebay graded 9.8 sells for $880: The Sixth Gun 1 CGC 9 8 First Print NBC not FCBD Bunn Hurt Top Census RARE | eBay

I would love to get my Walking Dead #1 graded too. Just nervous about that whole process.

Do a thorough inspection of the books and if they look decent, go for it. In the past this grading guide has helped me when I was new to the grading process and maybe it will help you too: Nostomania Comic Book Grading Guide

My Walking Dead #1 looks flawless. I do not see why it would not be a 9.8

Why be nervous? It is what it is.. even in 9.6 it's worth a ton more graded than it is raw.

realistically a full run lot maybe 500. i wouldn't let it run in a auction either. if you're gonna do it do a bin with tons of pictures. you're gonna lose money either way anyway. you would be better off piecing it out.

yeah, but big difference between a buddy buddy sale where they know they are getting high grades and very accurate descriptions of books cause it's a cgc forum and they'll get roasted selling crap.

versus selling on ebay where everyone is a skeptic. it's possible to get 650+ not saying it isn't, but it will take a lot of patience waiting for the right offer to come through ebay, and tons of pictures to maximize his profits.

My books are Near Mint. I bought them as they came out, read them once, then bagged and boarded them. I have over 8,000 comics in my collection from 1947-present.

actually you could easily get 650 for a full run on ebay, provided you have substantial feedback and scans or high res pics of the first few issues.

I sold 11-20 on ebay for 185, it was listed for less than half a day.

Issue 1 might be seeing some decline recently simply because of how many are being listed, but the first 8 or so issues are severely undervalued at this point.

Even being read once can down grade your comic. Everyone wants the CGC 9.8 label which is NM+/Mint which basically means in "unread" and almost flawless condition.

NM is CGC 9.2 or better, which means it can have spine creases, color breaks, etc.

So NM to you is different than NM to me and to someone else...why not scan the #1 issues you have front/back and show them to us...we'll be happy to help!

bottom line don't sell it as a lot unless you don't like money. #2 is breaking 100.00 in auction consistently.one just ended for 102 tonight.

I saw that one tonight that sold too. I was watching but it but decided to pass. To be fair it was described as in "Pristine" condition and in the description the seller said it was NM/M. It's rare to find them in that condition and after the CGC 9.8 have been going for 900+ bucks, why not?
