Amazon Best Sellers: best Comic Books

Your name isn't on that list, I clicked on the sellers list to see who was selling copies. Just being more clear since my last post seemed like I saw your name on the bestsellers list.

No worries, I was just curious how you looked that information up

why wouldn't you just call hastings and check stock first? everything is inventoried in their computers. save yourself a lot of heartache and gas.

This is an efficient way to do it. For my experience though, I stopped doing this because every time I call in to shops now an reserve books, for some weird reason when I get there either they say it is out of stock or they will tell you that it is selling higher on ebay.

It will give them time to research why it was asked for then they'll pull the oh we made a mistake we are out of stock. I'd rather just be there get it pay for it then leave

Exactly. It's like showing your hand to the rest of the table before raising the pot. Never tell store employees WHY you're looking for a particular book if it's something that's rising as they will pull stock and mark it up later. Let them do their own detective work. Calling them is a red flag anymore as any wise manager will be wondering why he got 3000 calls for Rachel Rising in the last hour.

I've got a Sunday with nothing to do and I like the excitement of the hunt. Plus I'm sure there are other gems to find that I didn't even know I wanted!

Plus having worked in retail, computers are wrong on stock quite often.

I'll be posting results.

Yes, but if this blows up, prices for stuff like original cover art should go crazy.

We was well chuffed to say the least.
Just joined this forum recently & finding it a wealth of info & Indy's grading orders are fantastic too
True, but how often does that come about? We don't have the good comic shops that we can search for back issue's and buy at cover price when something sparks interest (well, atleast I don't). We pay more on avg than cover for every book, and sellers on feebay uk want ridiculous prices for everthing, so much so that its often cheaper to buy from the states, and most won't ship to uk. For example say a bin on a walking dead 1 blue label is $1500 on ebay.com a british tool will be asking 1500 for the same book.

Not to be a Dick, but Indy, I did offer you the copy I picked up at $10 and said it was probably VF-Nm (9.0 grade). Ha ha, that is the truth but that was quite a while ago, and I can't blame Indy for wanting a copy that was NM at the least at the time. In all honesty, I don't know how long it would take me to find my Rachel Rising #1 with all the madness of long boxes I currently have up in my bedroom before I get them to the shop. I have about 25 boxes of comics in my room that I haven't even broken the taping yet, with 60 East of West #1 and I think 300+ Walking Dead #108. If you think I am full of S*** and making up those numbers, I'd be glad to make a quick video on my iPhone and post it here. Bleh

You're not being a Dick. You did offer it and at the time I honestly thought I could find a NM/M copy, but it's proven to be much tougher than I initially thought as there are NOT a lot of copies of this book floating about. There might be now, but at high prices.

Found it and it is in great shape(minor rubbing on black at bottom staple)

Now to find #2 and 4 (first print) as I bought 2 #2 - 3rd prints, ugh....

Yikes.. Hope I don't get that email too as I ordered from there as well. What's odd is #5 is the shortest printed of them all and it's still in stock!

I think it's prob not worth the shipping, if just getting the one book.
Indy, I had mentioned #1 2nd print being 1/1000. I am trying to dig up additional more concrete info but having a hard time. Not sure where they get their info.

Mailday! I didnt order the #11, but it was in the box. Messaged the seller to let him know. Maybe I got a lil freebie? (edit: he said, "Nope, thats for you to enjoy")

Still waiting on my #1 Second Print and hoping there are only 1000 of them. Might explain the lack of them listed right now? All told, i have $40 in my 1-5 set.

Anyways...
