Also, he mentioned this

".Based on a lot of feedback, although the book DID reach nearly 100,000 people,a lot missed the book, either because their stores didnít order enough copies,or they couldnít make it to a shop."

I don't know what he means by reaching 100k people. Couldn't be that he printed so many right?

After I ordered a copy I got an email from Erik. I asked if I could post the info he shared with me here. He seems like a really cool guy. And aaronchua, he asked that I posted he said thank you for posting his ebay link

"I noticed people making a comment about the numbers we hit on FCBD... We actually did print that many copies... Most of them went to Diamond, and then we had worked with some stores to get larger quantities sent out because they expressed interest (which paid off for them), and then I had a nice chunk to hand out at my local shop, etc etc etc... Issues 1-3, which take place right after the FCBD, won't have NEARLY that many copies printed, but we hope people like it and keep buying! I want to tell more stories there.

Thank you,
Erik Hendrix"

Also, he attached these and said I could post them too if I wanted. I figured it would be a nice preview for those here who may not have gotten a copy

Got my signed copy in from Erik Hendrix yesterday.
Also, if anyone here read the FCBD issue and enjoyed it, you can support the artist's Kickstarter: The Steam Engines of Oz original graphic novel by Arcana Studio — Kickstarter

I went ahead and put in for the $25 level where you get a "Director's Cut" limited edition copy. I figure this book has gotten a ton of exposure since it went out on FCBD so it has potential to be big. Plus I like the artwork so I'd like to add it to the PC anyway.

I honestly think this book is going to be the first big instant money-maker in quite a while. I guess East of West was an $8 book in its first week or two, but that had 50,000 made and wasn't much of a sleeper; I could see this one having around 10,000 made and being $20 in its first few weeks, which I think Black Beetle and Injustice did as well. I really think this book has many of the same elements as Peter Panzerfaust did, and what the writer is doing with signed copies of the FCBD are only adding to its appeal. Should be interesting to see...

I liked this title in general.

*spoiler*

The only part that stuck out to me is the part where the main characters meets the white queen and had a change of heart. This happens too abruptly for me. We are talking about a person who has been contented in working for the tin man for a long time. It took just one meeting to change her view?

It would have been more believable if the character is shown to display some anti-establishment feeling before the meeting with the snow queen.

So, this whole scene makes me feel like it is forced to be there so that the plot can move forward.

my 2 cents

Looks like it's only going to be 3 issues as the creative team is working on getting a graphic novel together via KickStarter.

Hey! I saw your note. I'm glad the guys on Comic Book Junkies are all happy! I'll get your book out today and probably throw and extra copy in there, too. One for you, one for a friend, perhaps?

Thank you,
Erik Hendrix

He sent a note when I ordered some issues..He is a nice guy
