Default Free Comic Book Day is Coming! 5/4/13 - What are you gonna pickup??!

Here's what's gonna be available to give you an idea of what to pick up. My shop limits me as to how many I can take, so I'm gonna watch this video to see what's available this year.

I saw that there was a Walking Dead fcbd one. If anyone could get one of those for me, I'd be happy to compensate them for it.

That's a lot of free books. I have three shops all somewhat close to each other so I should be able to snag a walking dead

The Walking Dead book has a NEW Tyrese story not reprinted from anywhere, so I can see demand for it outside of 5/4/13 - it's on my list

That steam punk oz universe looks fun, not as a $ book obviously, but looks neat.

As for money books.

The ONI press #1 book, Superman, Infinity, and Walking Dead are probably your biggest.

As with everyone else I'm looking forward to The Walking Dead book. Other then that I'm also really exicted for the new Grimm book. It's probably because, for one I live in Portland, and I also am planning on going to have David Giuntoli (Nick Burkhardt) sign some of the Grimm comics at the Rose City Comic Con. Not necessarily the FCBD one but still..

Looks like a few shops in the So Cal area are having big events for this day along with the free comic books. Here's the event happening for The Comic Bug with a bunch of guest writers and artists.

The Comic Bug FCBD

Another one of my favorite shops is having an event.

3C Comics and Collectibles FCBD

I'm definitely hitting up these shops and probably a couple of others on the day. Looking forward to it!!

Three stores for me to travel too. Just not sure which one I want to camp out at for free stuff. One is offering free tickets to Iron Man 3 and alot of other stuff. Another is just offering free stuff and the creators of Helheim. While the third has Frank Cho, who I can visit after a trip to one of the other two.

my shop prints their name on every FCBD book,
making them useless as a collectible.
So i'll just get the ones i want to read: Walking Dead, etc

For those who are speculating on Bodie Troll (not a huge speculation but looks like a good read) remember to pick up Atomic Robo which will have a Bodie Troll preview in it.

Stan Lee creates an Indian Superhero: CHAKRA/INVINSIBLE

Grimm will be good since there's a big TV following

Mouseguard will be another hardcover with a preview of "Rust" which is being made into a movie

Get Sesame Street for the kids...they are coming out with a #1 with different covers.

Not a huge $$$ making day but good to see a lot of new previews for upcoming comics!

Anybody willing to get me 'steam engine of oz'?
My LCS didn't participate in the FCBD program so no choice but to buy online.
Rather than giving my money to strangers on ebay, would rather let some guys here to earn it.

Willing to pay USD5 per issue + shipping. Multiple copies wanted as I love the art!

Just pay the shipping + supplies (cardboard box, bubble wrap, etc) and I'll pick up some for you...these are FREE and you shouldn't have to buy them from people.

I should be able to pick up at least 1 possibly 2-3 depending on the lcs I go to. I'll let you know!

Super super thanks John!

Still, feel bad if you don't take some $$ for the effort.

How does this work? Does every store carry all the titles? Are you limited by how many issues you can pick up? Never been before and just curious.

It all depends on the lcbs. Some stores get all the titles some don't even participate. Most stores limit the #of titles you can pick up or limit how many comics you can get so that one person doesn't take the whole stack!

Remember guys while it's free for the customers it costs the retailers anywhere from .25 cents to .50 cents for each comic they order + shipping costs.

This is a day to help promote comics for everyone and especially kids AS WELL as supporting your local comic book store...meaning don't just go in and get the free comics, buy something if you can!

I wasn't implying that I wanted to grab everything. I just didn't know if I had to pick one comic or three. I also wasn't sure if the shops carried all the titles or just what they order. I will ask tomorrow when I go by to pick up my subscriptions.

I talked to my buddy who owns a shop here in Indy, he's only gonna allow me 4 copies of any of the Free books, but he DID say he's gonna get me the C2E2 East of West exclusive and the Panzerfaust Exclusive!

What are these 2 exclusives you speak of?

Nevermind. Your talking about the diamond retailer ones. I thought you meant general public could buy ones.

It's just what they order. My LCS guy was showing me his order form he had filled out and the quantity of each book he ordered.

Yeah, the Diamond Retailer ones. These will be scarce and very tough to get.
