Picked up two #1 2nd prints at cover at a local. Actually had been missing this, so happy to add it to the other think tank stuff.

I know & that's delivered from US to UK!!!!!!

I know of 1 more that's going for $30, but due to fund shortage can't pick it up at moment (couldn't really afford to pick up the 1st one but couldn't let it pass!). Been real slow on sales last week or 2 & the wife makes me keep house money seperate from comic money (thinks she knows I have a tendancy to get carried away!!)

Matt Hawkins posted this on his facebook today:

"Aphrodite IX #3 going to press today should be in stores 7/17 and Think Tank 8 is in stores in two days. Spending all afternoon working on the top secret new project I'm writing that we'll be announcing at ComiCon. For you savvy people that follow my foursquare check-ins you might be able to figure it out =p"

Announcing the Think Tank movie at Comic Con?

I know he's been checking in to a studio in Santa Monica, but they do more Pixar-like effects.

I'm noticing an increase in auction proces for issue 1 on ebay UK & massive increase in Bagus variant. Don't see too many come up though
I'm still kicking myself on the 9.8 CGC bagus varaint I missed out on that went for £21 (about $30) a month or so ago

I sold one of my 9.8 a week before the craze for $110. So $30 was a really good deal. Oh well!

Just snagged a couple #1s from the LCS today for cover. Kinda surprised that there are not a whole lot listed on the bay.

I know the one Court has is signed. I know a couple other people that have some, but I never asked if theirs were signed. Since it isn't, this is going to JoeyPost along with my Saga RRP ASAP.

An ashcan copy is a term that originated in the Golden Age of Comic Books, meant to describe a publication produced solely for legal purposes (such as trademark), and not normally intended for distribution.

Some modern ash cans were given out as promos, or special thank yous for fans. Others are true ashcans in the publishing sense, used as test issues for retailers to see the product in advance.

Nope. It's a preview comic. Ashcans are much smaller. You'll notice the size of the ashcan in a modern bag & board above.

Also, the paper used for ashcans tends to be pulpy

Yeah. It was quite the gimmick back in the 90s...along with everything else.

They are not as prevalent as they were back then. I haven't seen many. They are mostly used as thank yous to retailers and fans, as well as for publishing reasons.

It may very well have been, mb. VEI over on the cgc boards has a few and has seen his share. According to him 75% of the ones he has seen are signed. Only downside is that it is numbered out of 150.
