Default Indy's Picks 6/26 - Big Week - HUGE even!

Here's what I"ll be looking at this week, along with some I should at least pick up and look harder at, and a few you might not be aware of and should perhaps check out while you're ordering online, or at the LCS this Wednesday.

Batman/Superman #1 - Art by Jae Lee, and the 1st time Bats and Supes meet up in the New 52 universe. Get at least one copy to stick away for a couple years and perhaps it'll be a $20-$50 book then.. it has that kind of potential IMHO.
Bodie Troll #2 - All ages book that resells well and #1 was very under-ordered. New artist, has great art and fun stories..
Bounce #2 - Fun start to a new series, gonna try #2
Clone #8 - For those who keep missing the boat on TV/Movie comics, this is one to latch onto now as it has potential.
Five Ghosts #4 - One of the best new artists on this series, fun read too.
Guardians of the Galaxy #4 - Love my Raccoon.
Hawkeye #11 - Dog-centric issue, unique issue this month, worth checking out IMHO
Hoax Hunters Case Files #1 (Annual) - As it's the 1st annual and with recent Movie news, might be a good one to snag a copy of.
Injustice #6 - This title continue to impress and resell well.
Larfleeze #1 - New DC title for popular Blackest Night character. Might be shorter printed.
Last of Us #3 - This game has gotten legendary reviews and copies of this comic are flying off stores shelves.. Get it if you can.
Lazarus #1 - One of the most anticipated launches of the year, new Image Sci-Fi by Greg Rucka.
Nova #5 - Excellent story, fun read.
Regular Show #2 - Just a FYI for Reg Show fans
Sex #4 - For those enjoying Sex, here's some more for ya!
Think Tank #8 - Never too late to get on board with this great story!
Uncanny #1 - New #1 from Dynamite about a man born with an uncanny ability, he can steal other people's skills - their memories, abilities, and expertise - for a limited time. Sounds intriguing..

Lazarus #1 is already getting 10/10 ratings. This will be a sell out. First Image sell out of comic con season?

I've not read #1 yet. Not sure, has anyone else read this book?

I enjoyed both the art and the story of #1. I'm sticking with it for the time being (and actually went back and picked up a couple more copies of #1 after initial reading...know it's a HUGE print run but it was good enough to store a couple away).

Any other junkies in/out on Jupiter's Legacy?

I read it and it was intriguing. I will definitely pick up the second book. Hell, I am still reading Sex. Hopefully, something will finally happen in the next issue.

Thank you Indy for the picks this week. I hope to get most of everything from you list.

Possible pickup: New mutant (villian?) in Uncanny X-Force #7:
excerpt from Marvel's summary:
And Los Angeles, lock up your humans: there's a new mutant on the loose!

I also like Mouse Guard Legends of the Guard #1 Vol 2. showcasing Self contained stories from various writers. I enjoy reading the stories and David Peterson's unique artistic style. Possibly under printed as I have not seen much advertisement for this title.

Happy Hunting.

Looking forward to reading Lazarus and Uncanny, both have solid creative teams on board and should be a good long term read.

They did do 'the boys', but then again they only ended up with that because Wildstorm realised what the content was & #### a brick!

From Bleeding Cool:
Lazarus #1 by Greg Rucka and Michael Lark from Image Comics was one of those first issues made returnable deals allowing retailers to order lots and lots, safe in the knowledgeable it could be returned. Logic states that this means this would be a bad speculator choice, as this week should be swimming in Lazaruses. Lazari. Whatever. But that was also true of Saga and East Of West, and look at their aftermarket value now. Jupiter’s Legacy is the only one of there’s books retailers seems to go nuts deep into. Lazarus, despite the excellent pedigree, ultra violence and high concept may still be harder to find than you may think.

I agree that this is the last Image #1 for quick resales. You will be able to resell this title, but that's it. I was also thinking Sheltered #1, but with Image Expo and all the varaints I canceled my order. And Pretty Deadly will have so much publicity/variants for the female creators since DC/Marvel have been getting so much hate the past few months/years for lacking.

Jupiter's Legacy is a tweaked version of Invincible, same concept with the children of Superheroes learning to deal with their powers, although in JL it's the children being media-whores and slackers/drug abusers rather than using their powers for good. #1 was definitely a fun read, I'm on board for #2 for sure.

Lazarus wasn't nearly as hyped as East of West was, and I think EoW had a print run around 50,000. My guess is Lazarus is closer to 30,000 made, and if the book is as great as the preview and the critics' reviews, it is a no-brainer to stock up on.

For those who missed the preview: Lazarus Preview (Rucka/Lark At Image)

Huge week on my pull list, too.

Star Wars Legacy #4
Adventures of Superman #2
The Wake #2
Bounce #2
Chin Music #2
Clone #8
Five Ghosts #4
Five Weapons #5 (series finale)
Jupiter's Legacy #2
Lazarus #1
Lost Vegas #4 (series finale)
Think Tank #8
Guardians of the Galaxy #4
X-Men #2
Battlestar Galactica #2

A lot of #2's this week. I noticed I'm missing a couple (Regular Show, Batman/Superman), might have to make this a two-trip week.
Also Age of Ultron #10AI

I do Previews for my readers with biweekly shipping, so I don't know what was last week and what is this week:

Mind MGMT #12
Think Tank #8
Lazarus #1 Regular Michael Lark Cover
Five Ghosts Haunting Of Fabian Gray #4
Jupiters Legacy #2 Cover A Frank Quitely
Mara #5
Wake #2 Regular Sean Murphy Cover

I've only read Mara #1 so far. I just wanted to complete it. I like Brian Wood.
