thanks you guys, I think the value stamp and a panel on page 10 were removd from the book, like I said I don;t really collect comics, what would my #181 go for with and without the auto from Stan lee in this condition?? ballpark guesstimations are fine

Thanks Tucker

I agree you should get this signed. If I was looking for a Hulk 181 I'd pass on one without the stamp and missing artwork. However, a slabbed copy with a Stan Lee signature would be something to frame and hang on the wall; the missing interior wouldn't really matter near as much.

If I had the book to do it, I would have Stan sign a low/mid grade copy of FF 48. A copy where the cover still presents really well.

Hey Indy, quick question(s). I'm a bit confused about the tiers/services of CGC.

It's the same price for everyone whether modern/silver/etc? I can't imagine this being Walkthru, but Modern Fast Track/Economy Fast Track would be different prices, right? Also, if one of us sends in a book that by the time it reaches CGC, they deem it as having raised in value and it needs to go through another tier, what would happen?

Excellent question. In the past, they charge me the difference. I assume they'd do this with SS books, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll find out and let you guys know.

Take mine ttyler..I have nothing I can have him sign right now..I don't want his SS on some of my old ASM, because I like them sig free..and I don't want to spend 150. on a comic and 143 on his sig, when most of the 150.00 books with sigs only sell for 230-250.00..my spot is all yours

There will be additional CGC grading charges for Silver/Bronze age books if they are high value. I'm getting that info together now and will post in the original post.

The pricing I posted if for post 1980 books only. If we want to send in older books, I can do it, but it'll be a bit more expensive. I'll have that pricing later tonight.

I added the additional pricing information for books prior to 1980, if you're sending a book in prior to 1980, we will also need to discuss insurance as it will need to be provided for return shipping as well and that's an additional cost. I think I'd prefer to only send in books after 1980 as anything before that seems to be way more expensive and more of a hassle, but if you really want to do it, I'll work with you to help make it happen as Stan Lee seems to do fewer signings anymore and who knows how much longer he'll grace us with his presence on this giant ball of hate we call Earth.

How do they determine the value of older comics? Do they go by overstreet value?

Is anyone going to this con? I'm fairly certain I am. It's just up the road and my buddy lives across the street from Camden Yards.

Here are approximate values using CPG

ASM #47 CGC 9.0 = $380.80
DD #8 - Depends on Condition, VF $142.80

Indy I just want to say thank you for doing this. I live in hawaii and no one ever comes here and does signings, let alone cgc. I am thankful that you offer guys like me this fantastic service, one that I will use in the future.

Just wondering if I did have the cash to send a book, which one would be better? I have some stuff signed by him, but I still want a book he wrote to finish my stan lee ss collection.

DD #4

OR

FF Annual #5

Thanks, looks like I should find a modern to send, otherwise it will be $200 to get this done.

I agree. That's why I'm going with the modern I picked up. Not a KEY book, but still iconic in it's own way and it'll have the man's sig on it graded, will make a great PC item!
