Now to get a 9.0+ fantastic four 48 before the deadline

Mmmm...my Avengers 51-55 aren't worth it probably, but I was thinking of cracking these open possibly. I've had them just sitting for a couple of years.

What do you guys think?

You may not need to crack them. Let me verify CGC encased books can be sent in and that way they can crack, sign/re-slab and you won't possibly damage the book and lose a grade.

I believe Desert Wind offers a service to un-slab a book for his auto. It's a few extra bucks I think.

GREAT opportunity to have Stan the Man's auto whether it's for personal or for resale.

Yes please, I will probably go this route pending the info.

I might also want to send my Avengers #55 in as well, but I also was thinking of having it pressed, so I am not certain yet.

Thanks for doing this

I would be very interested in this if I could send in my own book. Only condition is I would only do it if I could have him sign the comic I would be sending it red, if not it would be a tuff choice because I know what you said in the guidelines but I'm still interested either way because quite frankly it's hard to organize something like this. At Wizard World Portland I had him sign in silver ink so I don't know what changed with him. Maybe I could send you in something and request red and if not, no worries? I don't know, thank you as always. EDIT: I shouldn't be so picky, ink color is fine whatever he chooses. It's a white cover so it doesn't really matter.

I am needing some opinions here. I have a Hulk 181 probably go 4 or 5, has no stamp and there is a piece of the art work on page 10 that was neatly cut out too, does it make since to invest in having the book signed by Stan Lee and graded for a book of this condition. This would manily be for investment since my main focus is on vintage football and baseball??
Thanks Tucker

Hulk 181 is such an important title that it will sell regardless of condition, but still for the very lowest of prices, but adding a Stan Lee auto will bump up the value a lot. It's like selling a 1984 ford, but with air conditioning, chrome wheels, white letter tires, dual chrome exhaust pipes, cherry bomb mufflers, curb feelers and a kick ass stereo.. Makes it much easier to sell over other Hulk 181's with missing value stamp and a cut page. It's not an easy book to get cheap in any condition. I say yes, get it signed!

are you sure this is not the Marvel value stamp that was cut out as if it was this heavily undeminds value of comic

Buying
When buying a Marvel from this year be sure to read the auction's description. If there is no mention of its MVS then contact the seller and ask if it is present. If it has been removed then do NOT buy it for investment purposes regardless of its condition or if the missing portion affects the interior story pages or not. As stated earlier, this reduces the value by 75% and very few collectors will want it if you decide to re-sell it, and surely won't give you the same price you bought it for if you paid too much. If you are buying it as a "filler" or just a "reading copy", and the price is marked accordingly, then purchase it until you can obtain one in a higher grade.

Some of the stamps were not printed on pages that would have affected the comic book's story if clipped. BEWARE, for these examples cannot be easily detected (When hastily inspected) if the entire page is neatly and intentionally removed by the seller. Take your time and carefully examine each and every page before you leave feedback. Three of the most sought after comics in collecting are among this group. They are listed below along with their MVS.

The Incredible Hulk 180 (First Wolverine Cameo Appearance) - Cyclops Value Stamp
The Incredible Hulk 181 (First Full Wolverine Appearance) - Shanna The She-Devil Value Stamp
The Incredible Hulk 182 (Last Wolverine Appearance Until Giant-Size X-Men #1) - The Golem Value Stamp
