Default Best investment book to get for $200-300?

I'm looking to get a book for $200-300 to sit on for a little while that will be a good investment. I'm thinking Avengers 55 might be a good choice but don't know if I should get a low grade daredevil #1, Invinceable Iron Man 1 or something else like that, which would be safer IMO. Anyways just wanted the junkies thoughts. Thanks in advance!

A high grade Fantastic Four 52.

Avengers 55 is already a bit to high to invest in.

That's another one I was thinking of, and yes it seems I'm a little late to the party on avengers 55. Thanks!

A lot to choose from, but I've always had a soft spot for ASM 300 in 9.4 or higher...

I saw a raw Giant Size X-Men #1 go for 300 bucks a few weeks ago at a local store.

buy $300.00 in Silver wait for it to get to $40 an ounce and sell it ... INVESTMENT

Buy 90% 1964 and older Halves and quarters they are the closest to spot price

Other than that buy a cover u like and hold it for awhile and hope you made an educated choice FF 52 is not a bad idea for down the road I Like Jimmy Olson 134 more for a bigger upside

Thats a good idea also..I think its at 25-26.00 an ounce? If I were buying as an investment for the far future..I would only buy slabs. They are already graded and less hassle..thats only me though..some hate them

I think a good to low to mid grade Giant Size Xmen #1. That's the next major purchase on my list. I really want a copy of ASM 300, but think the price is rediculous, and can't personally see it growing to much.

I was thinking about Jimmy Olson #134...with a Batman/Superman movie confirmed, I think Darkseid would be a cool villain to tackle. DC needs a villain with the same magnitude as Thanos, too, if they're going to keep up with Marvel in films.

Definitely a lot to choose from. Giant Size X-Men is a good buy, its always going to be in demand, and so is ASM #300. Personally I like...

X-Men #12, 1st Juggernaut
ASM #129 and 300

High Grade X-Men 129, it is the first appearance of both Kitty Pride and Emma Frost, who are two of the top ten most popular female characters in all of comics. Kitty Pride was the main character in the comic series Days of Future Past, so if the cute little girl that played Juno dominates the movie as well, I can see that book tripling from current values when the movie hits. A CGC 9.6 of that book should be a great investment.

if you look hard enough you can still find some (or like I did manage to chance across some random obscure private sellers website!)
In last week I managed to get 3 Avengers 55 cheap, VG/F copy for £8 ($12), & 2 x VG- copies, 1 for £14 ($21) & another for £8 ($12)

Not being funny but i notice asm 300 can be had for the same price or less in some cases than they were 3 years ago.

For more modern books someone mentined x men 129 which seems like a fair option, so does asm 238 too.

If it was my money i may be inclined to look into DD 1, ASM 129 (seems to rise steadily as years go by, the punisher is here to stay) and JSA 1 (B&B 28 might be a little too pricey now for the avg joes budget)

Thanks for all the input guys, I'm leaning toward DD 1 in low grade and Jimmy Olsen 134, I think Darkseid will be in a movie in the near future and it can be had for a decent price. Again I appreciate all the input from everyone!

Low grade DD # 1 FTW!!!!! Most undervalued Marvel SA key. All this emphasis on villain's seems a lil backwards to me. Not that I won't snag them if I see them at a great price.

Daredevil #1 is very undervalued right now. But there are 1,757 Universal graded copies. Mean grade 5.2 (so 5.0), with 68% in 3.0-7.4 (so 7.5). For $300 you might be able to get a 2.0, which is below what I would go for. 90 day average for a 3.0 is around $500.

I would go for Fantastic Four #52. Raw copies have been gaining in price. Not really enough information on GPA to get a good judge yet on graded copies.

Thanks a lot for all the info tommy. Don't know if I will up my spending money or just go for a really nice FF 52 copy.

I would go with a Jimmy olsen 134, FF 52, Or avengers 57. A decent mid grade Tales of suspense 57 would be a good bet too. Hawkeye has grown in popularity a ton and that book still has a good amount of room to grow.

This one has been hard to find for me at LCS and cons. Seems to fly off shelves, the TOS 57 that is. I was happy to take one home with me from the con this weekend
