Hopefully people pre-ordered plenty as I have a feeling our pre-orders might be allocated as well.

P.S. The original post was here.

I wonder if its just the lesser know villains, the major villains or both that will see this allocation

It's probably in relation to general print run per title.

i.e. Batman 150,000 a month, Batgirl 30,000... if they're cutting allocations, they probably only printed 60% due to the increased cost for these covers, so they might dry up fast.

Hey gang,

Don't forget to look for the newsstand variants of some of them. I think they will be hot also, i.e. Batman/Joker newsstand variants!

my local Barnes and Noble sometimes gets them, but condition is usually sub par as every kid on the North side of Indy has rolled it up and beat his brother with it as his mother browses "why are my kids punks" self-help books.

yet another update

The print run for the 3D covers for September had to be set a while ago because of the production process.
All 3D cover issues for September are now sold out at the distributor level.
Orders on the Villain’s Month issues will be allocated.
DC will also ship standard edition cover versions on the same day as the 3D cover versions for a dollar less, holding the line at $2.99. These will officially count as first prints.
Retailers need to start ordering these 2D covers this week. So let your comic store know what you want – and they’ll tell you if you can get it.
And for those collectors worried that they won’t be able to get all 52 motion covers, you can also order the Villains Month 3-D Motion Complete Set, which will have all the comics in second print, in a box, as well as Forever Evil #1 3D Second Print Variant for $199.99 for December 11th.
The allocation will be set to match previous store’s selling patterns, to avoid those who suddenly now ratchet up orders in the knowledge they’ll be allocated.
The titles will range from 50% allocation on some books, with retailers getting half what were ordered, to nearly 100% where retailers will get almost all they ordered.
Retailers will be informed how many books they are getting in time to order 2D replacement copies.
The existence of the standard versions at $2.99 has allowed DC to publish the Villain’s Month comics digitally at $2.99, rather than $3.99, while still remaining parity with print.

The Previews order deadline is past so you'll have a hard time finding somewhere to pre-order now. You should still be able to go to dcbs (dcbservice.com) and download the Excel order form and submit your order that way. I was able to do that last night.

Mycomicshop.com has them to preorder but there is probably no guarantee that order would be filled at this point.

Thanks for the reply guys! I had a hard time finding them before today so I thought maybe it wasn't released yet, but since I saw you guys talking about ordering already I figure I'm a little late to the game. I will look into DCBS and MCS! thanks

try M&M Comics - Home Page as well.

Click July Previews, under the left hand menu and you "might" still be able to order them there. I order from them and have been happy with their service/quality.

alright! if anyone else in my situation was wanting to order the DC Villians 3d comics, here is what I have done:

I did the DCBS excel order form (1st time customer, yay 8% off! ) and just emailed them the order form, and will update with confirmation if the order goes through. I hope they go with the prices in the order form!

M&M didn't have the Villain stuff on the July previews anymore I'm from US so UK is kinda far and MCS has the july previews still on order, but only at a 10% discount due to late order rather than 40% from DCBS.

Here's to hoping the 40% off sticks on DCBS for late orders as well! XD But if it gets canceled or something similar, then MCS will be the best option.

I've been ordering from DCBS for a few months now and I usually order about the last day of the month even though their cutoff is earlier. I've never had any issues yet. I missed July's order and emailed them on 8/5 to ask if I could still order and they replied that were still accepting orders. I uploaded the order to my account last night and got a confirmation email this morning. All discounts were applied so I'd say you are good to go.

Also, for those that have trouble finding stuff on DCBS I'd highly recommend trying the Excel order form. It lists every product in the order that Previews uses and includes Previews page numbering too. This was the first time I used it and it saved me a ton of time!

I'm actually staying away from these. It's too gimmicky for me. What ever happened to content of story?

Do you have to order a certain/set number of books? is this something you would have to get on a monthly basis? Is this an account you setup and can order whenever you want?

Sorry for the silly questions, I have never ordered from them and am really interested in it for come stuff.

i am hearing the the allocations will be based on your pre-villain month numbers
and the ordering window is very small on the standard covers

I thought the same, but with the print runs being low and the potential demand being high, I cant leave possible big money on the table. TBH, the covers look kinda cool

I have ordered from several places, more notably Midtown comics (but I was late to the game for villians pre-orders there) and I got the Villians from DCBS. I guess to answer your questions based on those 2 sites:

a.) You don't have to order a certain/set number, but shipping varies (Midtown price, DCBS flat rate)
b.) You don't have to on monthly basis, it is just pre-orders 2 months in advance for cheaper than cover prices
c.) Yep you can set up an account and order whenever. However if you want to get in on the Villains stuff, you either have to order through DCBS excel form (excel spreadsheet and emailed/uploaded) or mycomicshop through their webstore online (but only 10% discount)

Hope this helps!

Haha same. I ordered a total of 14 of em, but I only plan to sell half. I am keeping most of the covers because they're cool looking
