with "Afterlife with Archie," it will venture into the world of grim horror.
"It's the real deal. This is not traditional high school hijinks or a bad 'Scooby Doo' episode," announced Jim Sokolowski. While he assured fans typical Archie love triangles and Jughead's hunger will remain, "We pour H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King's 'Pet Cemetary' and 'The Walking Dead' on top of that."

Aguirre-Sacasa and Francavilla are a deadly combination in more ways than one. Not only does "Afterlife With Archie" #1 wildly succeed as a truly scary horror comic, it is a prime example of the comics medium's potential as an adaptable art. The issue is easily one of the strongest series debuts of the year and well worth a read for horror comic fans.

Midtown now sold out of the D Lingerie variant. Graham Crackers completely sold out as well of all variant covers.

I know I may sound like a broken record, but I've said for months this one could be hot. Halloween coming up, small print run, genre breaking comic with America's best know Teen with STELLAR art by Francesco Francavilla!!!

Yeah, I think there are like 80 shops getting that variant, each shop will have their store name/logo on it, but it's basically the same variant. I think the hottest variant will be the lingerie, also known as book D variant. You know, cause BOOBIES!

I had been looking for Variant D but bought one today and might have a 2nd one coming. I don't do comics but for some reason I really wanted to get in on this one so I have already pre-ordered comics 2, 3, and 4 as well as their variants. I have #1 and it's three variants coming this week.

Way to go! I'm pre-ordered though #2 so far.

Set of 5 sold for $25 and the book that was the spark for this new ongoing title, Life of Archie Francavilla Variant cover from last year is still selling for $15

Indy I think you nailed another one. Can't find the D cover anywhere and on the CGC boards it is blowing up. It's a hot one here. Better stock up while you still can. Good call!

Thank you kind sir! Sometimes you've got to go against the grain and pick things that seem impossible, that shouldn't work, but this had too much going for it not for me to PTSOOI! (Pimp the Shiz out of it!).

Hope you all got on board early, or are picking them up now.. Archie typically does not have a big print run. From what I've heard today people went crazy over it, stores sold out, Diamond sold out of their stock today as well. It's gonna dry up fast.

Picked up 3 of each cover yesterday, went back today and there we're none left of what was probably a stack of 30-35...

Well, I sent a base and Francavilla variant into CGC this morning. I don't have my Pepoy pre-orders in yet, but I think that one will be the HAWT one

This was the book at today's local comic con. Every seller had a few copies. Only one seller had the magazine sized variant and it was $40. But everyone said they loved it. Plenty of room to grow.
