Default Cisco's 9/25 Comic Hunt Hot Pick - Farlaine The Goblin #1 (Super Low Print Run)

This is officially only my second Comic Hunt Hot Pick, and I hope to keep my record going of picking some good, and solid gems.

Now up is Farlaine The Goblin #1. From what I can tell it is self funded, and is a good comic you want to get now if available. The book first off is very well put together, not a typical comic book shape or paper stock. The comic has a SUPER LOW print run of 1350. Best of all the art is AMAZING, and the story is actually really good.

SYNOPSIS FROM SITE:

This is a fairy tale.

Farlaine the Goblin, a tree goblin shaman from the Forest of Fin-Din, has spent years wandering the very many Oddlands of Wug in search of a forest to call his own. He only has 10 lands left.

Farlaine is an all-ages book with a fun and quirky sense of adventure, creative and unique from the vast sea of spandex-clad heroes and endless zombies. And kids seem to love him!

The story I'm telling is act 3 of his journey. Farlaine has been searching for years. Hes had a lot of failures. His tree is getting a little beat up. He only has 10 lands left to explore of the hundreds he started with. None of the remaining options sound promising, and if he finishes exploring the world without finding a forest, poor Ehrenwort will wither and die, and he will wander like a ronin forever.

We follow Farlaine and Ehrenwort as they continue through the remaining lands, each with a distinctive trait indicated in their names - The Tinklands, The Saltlands, The Racelands, The Twistlands, The Winglands, The Vaultlands, The Traplands, etc.

Yeah and it looks like midtown is gone. Wow, crazy. I ended up purchasing one book from them since you can get it personalized/doodled in to keep for myself too though.

I picked one up at Boston Comic Con because I stopped and talked to the creator in line while I was waiting for lunch. He's a super good dude and sketched and signed my book. I'm glad to see it's getting recognized now!

Thanks Cisco for the info and pick. I agree completely its getting some great reviews plus its a super low print run under 1500, independently published, hand done covers ans inks, and unusual size / shape all spell good things. I see this thing climbing value wise as the series moves along. I ordered a few #1's and #2's unsigned.

Not long a few days but they send email when its shipped. Studio Farlaine knows about the shipping and is going to correct the issue. They were unaware of the collector aspect of buying the books etc.

I contacted them, they said they are aware of the damage and have now fixed it.

Also these available from their site are from the fire printing in case anyone wanted to know. The originals may be in discount bins said the contact at Farlaine jokingly, but he is being serious.

Maybe Farlaine will travel to the Firelands in issue 4. The Firelands is located in a giant factory in the middle of the Forrest were issues of his story are being burned by an electrical fire. He saves the last remaining issue only to read it to Ehrenwort which allows him to grow to a large tree within the Firelands. The End
