Default Ebay buyer says books arrived as described, wants to return books. Question/Help?

Hey all,

Quick question: I recently sold a lot of Avengers books to a buyer on Ebay,
The buyer received the books this week and mentioned that they are in the condition stated...that he thought the books we're graded fairly but he had a change of heart when he received the books...and wanted to return them.

Now I do say on auction that I will give refunds and work with the buyer so I offered to refund the auction amount minus shipping and seller fee's. The whole thing smells fishy to me...

The avengers books are both CGC'd so if they come back cracked i know something's up and the other book has certain markings that i know would have been switched out.

Should I go through with the refund? and wait for the books to arrive and give him the refund, or just flat out say sorry... no refund you bought the books and risk a case opening and poor feedback?...

Any help is appreciated,
Thanks!

Default returns

he sends books back

then you issue refund

I Think you have to refund full amount

he pays return shipping

No. Buyer remorse. Can you copy and paste exactly what he said? You would win the case and the buyer would get a warning before being banned.

And eBay will remove the feedback if it is buyer remorse.

if you state you will accept refunds you have to give it. Just be sure to go through the correct shipping/paypal/ebay procedure so you are covered in case there is funny business.

no returns on slabs..I have a slab sold to a guy right now, said it got cracked on the bottom right during shipping..I sent it priority box, bubble wrapped and bubble wrap on the top and bottom of box. I tried to recreate the issue and couldn't do it. Then I look at other posts, he has done this before to individuals. Its almost like he had a cracked one, wants me to refund him the amt to get his done too..I sent him a msg asking him for the serial etc, and never heard back since thurs..So no, no refunds on cgc slabs, especially if nothing wrong with them

Keep the serial numbers on books you sell, match them up when they come back to make sure you're getting the same books back.

Yeh i have the serials down and pictures of the books i sent. There's no way he can send something back that is not mine that's for sure. The buyer has decent feedback and after some communication seems genuin enough. I'l just wait it out and see.

Issue the refund once the books are returned. If you don't want to refund people then you should not list it as such in your auctions.

Iv'e no issue with refunds, just not a fan of giving a refund because someone decided that they don't want the item after i ship it... This isn't window shopping or buying a dress for one night and returning it. Listing, selling and shipping from ebay takes time and the more time I wait for the books to come back the more money I could potentially be loosing to reinvest into my hobby...
