If D.C. is smart, they would pimp out Harley on Variant Covers the way Marvel does with Deadpool. People can't get enough of her, but I would see her entrance into the movies as being difficult, still a possibility. I would say Saga in general would be a great pick to gain steam, and if any character I would say The Will. There were spin-off series for Preacher and Spawn back in the days, I would not be surprised in two or three years to see The Will die in the series, but get a prequel series featuring his days with The Stalk (and if they have a series with Lying Cat as a kitten, it would INSTANTLY become my favorite series ever). Saga is the best comic ever written IMO, and the print runs are increasing and selling out each issue. I expect it to get to 100,000 per month in a year or two; it's that good.

If rocket is going to hot, which book do you think will become hotter: marvel preview 7 or hulk 271?

- Flash 1 New 52 is an interesting possibility given the prices of Batman 1 New 52. However, you probably need to hoard a number of copies to see a few hundred dollars in profits.

- Y23 is a 50:50. What are the view of everyone? Personally, I find her to be too much like wolverine to be able to stand on her own.

If dc ever gets their heads out of their asses and put lobo in a movie I think he is the equivelent of Deadpool. But I have to agree with most with rocket raccoon

Both marvel preview 7 and hulk 271, I think most people will prefer hulk 271 though

Really only one character mentioned fits the criteria to be the next "deadpool", fantomex. To be the next deadpool you need to be an anti-hero.

she's edgy and has a cult following.

she could pull off her own book. or be in a team.

X-23? or is there also a Y-23? If so i need to brush up on my modern characters. Personally I'm not a fan of female characters, but clearly I'm the minority on that. Definitely think she could pull off her own book, i just won't be buying it myself, but that's just personal preference.

Also, it is x23 not y23. My bad

Funny thing is this: it might be none of the what we discussed and a character might come up of nowhere and surprise everyone.

For those who has been in this longer than me, are that any telling signs say 5 years ago that Harley will be this hot?

Well i shouldn't have said the only character as Rocket Raccoon does fit that profile, only he isn't a new character and his 1st appearance has already gone up substantially so really that doesn't fit the profile of your question either. If I'm not mistaken you are asking what new obscure character has the potential to be as popular as Deadpool?

The Y-23 comment wasn't meant to be a smart a$$ comment, just for the record. I don't really follow them so things like x-23/Harley were way off my radar.

Marvel Premier #7 - 1st time in Magazine
Hulk #271 - 1st time in comics
Rocket Raccoon #1 - 1st Stand Alone series.

I think all three have potential.

I am asking for characters that can become the next deadpool but is still affordable at under $50 for a VF copy. Rocket definitely fits the bill here. At least for hulk 271

By the way, is USD200+ too much for a hulk 271 9.4 with white pages?

based on the comic books and the direction of the Marvel movies...

I believe the following will pick up:

1. Thor 165 = 1st App Him (Adam Warlock)
2. Nova # 1 = enough said

No one could have told you that he would be as popular as he is today back then because it's about continued usage of a character, and thier development. It's really an anomaly. Was highly over printed and at current prices is a terrible investment. I think a key is that he is an anti-hero which is, has been and will be a popular concept, Wolverine, Punisher, Deadpool, ect. The fact that Fantomex recently came out with his own title is a early tell tale sign but really at this point doesn't ensure longevity. I think he is cool and appealing enough though. I just wish I didn't hate the cover of his 1st app so much.

Fantomex is French; Americans hate French people. It will never happen.

I was thinking the same, as there is no indication printed on the comic that it is in fact a mini. They might be seeing how sales go.

"French" Fries are actually from Belgium, so more points against the Frenchies...

James Howlett was born in the Western Territories of Canada, not the French parts of Eastern Canada. He is popular because he's not French. The Howlett name is British or Scottish, I believe.

Price appreciate when movie announced? Yes!
Next deadpool? Questionable, especially adam warlock. You really think a character like that has mass appeal?
