Default Guardians of the Galaxy Keys

First off I would like to say how pleasant it is here as opposed to the sports forums in terms of politeness and respect.

People seem really helpful here and actually led me to my interest of getting back into the hobby.

With this said I was just wondering what the thoughts of the community were about key comics for the upcoming GOTG movie.

After research I have found a couple but I suppose I am a bit late to hop on the train i.e. Marvel Super Heroes 18 which I can not find any at auction on ebay. Also only one hulk 271 can be found right now.....

Does anyone have any other nice key comics to pick up ?

any help is much appreciated

Marvel Preview 7 is the first appearance of Rocket Raccoon. Very tough to find high grade
Marvel Preview 4 is the first Star Lord
Strange Tales 180 is the first Gamorra

A book that never gets mentioned is Annihilators #3. It is the origin of Rocket Raccoon. It is part of a 4 issue mini series from 2011, a much newer book than most of the other issues that will get mentioned in here.

Each issue in the series has a variant cover with Rocket and Groot drawn by different artists on it. The variants all sell above cover price. If you find a set you can probably move it for 50 bucks, but I think #3 could see additional demand. Even CGC labels it as Rocket's origin, so...

Welcome!
It's never too late, well if you have lots of $$$$, I think it would make things easier.
I've been following GOTG for a while now, I think it's going to be the next big thing in cinema history. There are still some more Marvel Super-Heroes #18 on the Bay. Depends on grade and price range you are looking to stay within.

Tales To Astonish #13 / Hulk Annual #5 - First Groot / Second Groot
Fantastic Four #65 - First Ronan The Accuser (People seem to be sleeping on this one)
Iron Man #55 - First Thanos and Drax the Destroyer (SUPER HOT BOOK, Two for one)
Fantastic Four #67 - First Warlock
Nova #1 - First Nova (To Be Determined....I think he will eventually come into play)

Defenders #26-28 - Early GOTG App. Starhawk joins in issue 28

tone - thanks for the help !

yeah i saw the other listings, since I am new back in the game I am trying to stay away from BIN listings so I do not overpay or accidentally buy a reprint (almost bought reprints of ff65 (twice) )

Actually my first buy coming back was ff65 picked one up two days ago, hoping my mail man isnt an idiot and bends the package to fit into my box

Don't be afraid to check local comic shops if you have any. You'd be surprised at what you might find at some of them. Depending if they use Overstreet or not you might get some incredible deals

rocket raccoon will the main star in my opinion so marvel preview 7 or hulk 271.

I rather hoard these rather than spread my investments over a dozen or so issues.

I would go with Thor #165 over FF #67 for Warlock.

But cheaper key issues:
Annihilation Conquest #6 (I always have copies to sell hah, but right now you could get the prologue and #1-6 for a few dollars more)

Guardians of the Galaxy #1 (2008 series) 1st print but 2nd print has some movement
#8 variant (Hardest cover for me to find so far, but favorite one)
#24
#25

And Nova #1 (The old series, I don't know the year) can still be found.
