Default Jsims20 ongoing pickup thread (:

I don't post to much here, but I figured I would start an ongoing thread instead of posting a new one every time I got something new. ANYWAYS, I wanted to show you guys my recent pickups.

I was excited to find Batman 405 at one of the local shops, as I am trying to get the complete year one run all first print.

I got Teen Titans 44 off of Amazon. It's not in the best shape, but nice to have.

Thanks for looking. (:

I like that Batman cover. Pretty simple but still very cool!

I had a chance to go to the local comic shop and I picked up Shadow of the Bat #1 (1st Zsasz), Harley Quinn 0, Infinity 12, Superior Spiderman 22, and Superman 25 (All by recommendation from you all of course.)

Got this lot of detective comics off ebay for 50 cents. Nothing to valuable, but it included 608 (First appearance of Anarky) and 626 (One of my favorite covers), both shown in the second picture.

And last, but not least, I got Amazing Spiderman 194 from Indy for a great price.

Thanks Fellas! (:

My girlfriend and I did a late Christmas gift exchange and I was so excited to open it.

She got me The Dark Knight Returns, Arkham Asylum, Hush, and Arkham Asylum: Game of the Year Edition. I started with Hush and holy crap it is awesome.

Hush has been one of the top five selling trades at my shop since I opened seven months ago; incredible story and art.

Had a chance to go to my local shop and look around for awhile, stumbled upon this beauty. Not in the best shape, or even good shape, but I couldn't pass it up at 11.99

Thanks for looking (:

I would have grabbed it too. That must be the ultra rare variant that opens left to right.

Haha super rare!

Luckily the cover is still intact, just slightly

Picked this trio up from stlfan78 on this fine forum.

Left to right: Spiderman 29, X-Factor 6, Spiderman 90.

Thanks for looking (:

Yes, hush is a great series! Like I told a member in here when they said the hush set is dollar bin fodder, the hush series is currently one of the best batman series to date. The series will always have value, I wish I didn't sell mine but I needed the cash, plus I can always buy it again.

Just one today. I was flipping through the Batman books and this one caught my eye for the cover alone.

One of my grail books is Batman 227, and I thought this was a cool homage to that book.

I like 227 and all the homage books too. Have you ever get someone to do a sketch on a blank cover?

I had no knowledge that this particular book even existed.

Do you know the other homage covers off the top of your head? I'd love to track them down.

And I have never done that, or even thought of it. Definitely an awesome idea though. The local comic convention has some great artists coming to the November, so I will have to think about doing that.

I would have to look it up, but someone on this forum does. I remember someone posting them a few months back.

The original is batman 31

I love comic covers: Detective Comics #31 Homages
