I almost clicked BIN 2x. I swear if it was still there the 3rd time I was gonna pull the trigger. Thanks to whoever took that temptation away.

Definitely an undervalued comic. The movie news will make this an easy quick flip for anyone who gets in early. Also look for issue #8, first app of death.

Speaking of Sandman, how did everyone like overture?

It was pretty good overall, I just feel the poorly placed ads mid read ruined my dream escape that was Sandman overture.

I LOVED #1, but man, I don't like waiting 2 months for the next issue. The art is gorgeous in that book.

Right now on auction i wouldn't be suprised if you got close to $300. All the reasonable Buy It Nows will be all gone within the next day and everyone will turn to the few if any auctions that remain to get an issue. The buzz will only increase as this book has a cult following and I've seen it firsthand. Once this comes out more and more the comic will go crazy.

yeah I'm being greedy and thinking $300 is too low. Sandman is considered one of the top 5 maybe 10 best series of all time. Huge following and 9.8's are really hard to come by. I bet when it gets closer to movie time this will be a $500 book.

The Movie is years down the road. Movies also dont generate as much buzz as a TV show does cause once a movie is over, its over. If you want to buy them buy them but remain cautious, just because someones pointing out auctions telling you to buy them doesnt mean you have to and people could be selling their own books

This is Sandman people are talking about here... This book is hot on it's own.. GPA on the books selling right now is close to the same. In a week these books are going to be 200-300 more. Watch.

We will see Movie hype doesnt bring the same prices TV hype does. And so far ive just seen a few people telling other people BUY BUY BUY. Ill take a look again in a week I could be wrong. Just trying to exercise some caution.

It's more about the following Sandman already has.

It's going to jump. Tomorrow will be interesting.

I agree with Carr here. TV shows do well for books without a huge following. Books with a built in following see crazy bumps on movie news (X-Factor 6, Hulk 271, Iron Man 55, ASM 300). The latter will be true for Sandman #1 and sooner or later #8.

I haven't checked this morning, but most of the books listed yesterday in 9.8 were all in line with the 90 Day GPA, IIRC. It will be interesting to this what happens over the next few weeks, especially with those eBay bucks flowing in.

I am more worried the movie will suck and kill off any hope of a franchise.

I guarantee they will use the first and worst story arc for the movie as it is I guess a origin story. But they will probably include a love story and a human "partner" for Dream as well. Look at what they did to bring Constantine to the big screen and tell me they won't do the same here.

I forsee these as parts of the movie.

1. Him being captured by the Alleister Crowley guy.
2. Him flashing back to his one true love and how that went wrong.
3. Death paying him a visit while imprisoned.
4. Him freeing himself after a long time and setting out on adventure to recover his lost artifacts.

Seems fairly Hollywood to me, but think about the story arcs of A Game of Your or The Doll House.

At best we get a mash up of Seasons of Mist (Nada love story and going to hell) mixed with Preludes.

hahaha...I've had this issue with stuff before. did you almost click the BIN? or did you actually CLICK the BIN and then change your mind before hitting that "commit to buy" button? I've done that a few times where I'm like "ok screw it I want this! and I click BIN and then it gives me that last chance to reconsider and suddenly I just can't bring myself to do it, lol.

I think I did both. It gets progressively worse each time and by the 3rd time I go back, I usually go through with it.

I did buy another raw copy last night, and if you guys want, there are a few on Amazon right now hovering around $100

Amazon isn't the way to go here for sure. I am not sure 1 Raw will ever hit 100 in my area.

In case anybody is wondering about the census data for this book...

10.0: Total = 0
9.9: Total = 0
9.8: 175 (Blue) 53 (Yellow) 2 (Green) Total = 230
9.6: 260 (Blue) 39 (Yellow) 6 (Green) 1 (Purple) = Total 306
9.4: 148 (Blue) 10 (Yellow) 7 (Green) = Total 165
9.2: 52 (Blue) 5 (Yellow) 2 (Green) = Total 59

Finding a 9.8 raw may be a challenge.

...challenge accepted!

Yes that means I have a comic numbered out of /53. Maybe its an ebay one of one, lol.

It would be interesting to see if they did the signature series census by the signee. It would be cool to see how many are signed by whom?

Does any one know if Neil signs much? I don't see many books signed by him.

I had a chance to get his sig earlier this year, forget the price, but he's not cheap. He doesn't do many shows.
