Default Marvel Agents of Shield Changes in 2014

Looks like they are finally changing some things on Shield next yr. It sounds like they could be bringing in some superhero's taking their cues from Arrow..

How Will Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Change Things Up in 2014?

Yeah cause without some superheroes this show will be forced off TV despite Whedon's plans. This give me the same feeling as this Gotham series about Gotham city back when Commissioner Gordon was a young man, but without Batman who really gives two blanks about Gotham.

I'd love to see them do one of those stories where The Punisher is hunting some bad guy while also being hunted by S.H.I.E.L.D. I imagine they'd get some viewers in if they could get Thomas Jane to reprise his role, lol.

hey it could happen...

They've got a lot of catching up to do in order to be as cool as Arrow.

How about a big crossover, which I know will not happen, Ghost Rider, Spidey, and punisher on it..

A lot of people. He has arguably the best and deepest cast of villains, a large percentage of which could exist in the real world, as opposed to being alien in origin or having obtained superpowers through one measure or another.

I predict it will be using some third or even fourth characters.
Somebody like mocking bird, taskmaster etc.

I only saw the first episode and it was terrible but the show has too good of ratings going against NCIS to be cancelled

The last couple of episodes have been much better. I still dislike the main agent, but I am starting to come around on Mae, Fitz Simmons and the "hacker."

Lets be fair. I just started to watch Arrow and it was pretty much the same as AoS when it first came out, if not a little more campier. Just saying...

I disagree Arrow wasn't this bad starting out. It always had great action, film techniques, fight sequences, etc. It had to build the story but never lacked anything. Agents of Shield lack everything except Coulson. The team characters are flat 2 dimensional that nobody cares about or has a vested interest. The most exciting things about AOS is the guest appearances which is just subpar. I mean this is whedon for crying out loud.

I will agree that the action was better, however, I am not really that invested in any of the characters up to this point. The only character that I have a "vested interest" in, is Laural. Something about a pretty, ass kicking lawyer that peaks my interests I am sure that will change as I watch more episodes, as I am only about 5 in. So far, Arrow is slightly better than AoS's first couple of episodes. I would not say it is far superior by any stretch.

Season 1 gives you more into all these characters. A bridge has to be built with solid footing before bringing in the bigger picture.
And Laurel doesn't kick anyone around, she's constantly getting into trouble and needs help.

That kinda sucks. After she took down the club owner, I thought for sure she was "more than meets the eye."

Based on what folks have said about this show, I look forward to catching up.

I can tell you now, the show is not going down the toilet, do you understand how much of a hit it would be to marvel to allow that? They will put IM, Hulk and whoever else they had to keep it from doing that. Its an ok show, it could be a great show if they focused on the Comic book part of it. The article has it perfectly. Focus on Mae and Coulson, fitz and simmons as a Q type character, the rest guest star hero's. Would be very good

What people misunderstand about AOS is its not about any of the superheroes per se its about the human team behind the scenes. It just doesn't hold up without the other. Plus the mid-season finale was the lowest ratings of the show.
Adding a guest super powered character might be good for one or 2 episodes but they are not prepared to change the show centering around what everyone wants to see.....Marvel Super characters. Period.
Just like this planned Gotham tv show, without batman whats the point of a show about a detective in Gotham. We have plenty of cop shows already that are much better like Being Human.

What the show clearly needs is more Cowbell.

Right now I would take Buffy reruns or even Angel reruns over AOS.

Whats sad is I loved the mid-season finale. I just thought it was good. But I am looking at the show like I would a new ncis, or csi. Most want the hero's. They do need to find a happy middle ground.. But then again Whedon is either a love him or hate him guy. Look at Firefly, Buffy-my favorite, Dollhouse etc. I enjoy all his writing myself, and his brother is pretty good also.

IMO, if they really want to come back with a bang, they need a cameo from one of the big ones, preferrably Stark.

Could you really see RDJ agreeing to do a television cameo?
