Larry has a lot of gall to call someone else homophobic

getting back on subject here. the book is pretty interesting. i enjoyed it a lot. I spoke to Shawn a bit about things and he is a super nice dude. i hope he gets credit for the hard work put in on this and isn't over shadowed by retards. He deserves the credit.

Hope the book does well for them. I like supporting books like this.

Larry's getting a bad wrap here. He has issues no doubt, but his shop and programs are good for comics in general. No one promotes like he does. The creators are getting a ton of press from this.

And yes he has called some of you out right or wrong several times. In some cases mentioned here from memory all the details are not listed just the stuff Larry said. The guy isn't a saint that's for sure, but being capitalist isn't a sin either. A lot of time he is just shut up and pimped his books he would be better off.

I have no problem with the book or the ideals of capitalism - I hope it does well and the creators benefit. There's no doubt about that.

I don't think anyone missed a single exchange in the recounting of this specific story though (the francavilla afterlife cover). It was pretty cut and dry.

The issues aren't about the phantom covers or the program at all. Its about the negative hateful attitude of the person in charge of it. Just think how many shops and customers one could get with a positive friendly demeanor? And the one factor that is forgotten in all this is the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT.
I choose to do business with more cheerful people and yes that is my choice however when it comes down to it doesn't everyone want that?

It looks to me like he's not a very good capitalist lol.

He is absolutely flooding the market with them right now.

It's funny how he mentions how few are printed but has a slew of listings containing multiple copies.

He's pretty much screwing other Phantom stores by doing this.

No offense, but he has been in business for a very long time.

You will enter this world so hopefully you will do it better.

If he managed his personality better the guy would be an even bigger success.

The point I was trying to make is we pick and choose here what we discuss concerning the guy. We tend to leave out the prods and pokes we send to set the guy off. Now in the above case there wasn't really an issue he just wigged out. Not the first time it happened and doubt it will be the last.

Again if he could manage his personality better he would be a much larger success then he is because he kills his mail order business at CGC where a lot of volume of sales are done. Its just the wrong board to act like he does.

is there a reason why some stores don't carry this book? I saw on their FB page of the stores carrying EFJI, but not a single one in the bay area....I was able to pick up one copy of the phantom variant, which was fantastic.

Also, anyone know what the run is for the general release today? And the phantom variant?

There is some phantom variants at my LCS, but they are not 9.8's. Message me if you want one for cover (which I think they should be).

It may cause a spike. I grabbed a copy of issue one and the phantom just to check it out. I'll be selling if there is a rush.

Yeah, I stayed away from the phantom. The regular cover is where it will be at, IMO, if there is an at to be. The one I grabbed was my "reader" copy.

Picking on Christianity really isn't a big deal in this day and age and I don't think the CNN story will stir any outrage. Now had they written on Muhammad and Islam, talk about a firestorm.
