Default Quick Holiday Movie Review

Anchorman 2, a must see if just for the fight scene in it..
American Hustle, very good story and jennifer lawrence kisses amy adams, what more do you need
Mitty--Just saw it, I loved it, but will not be for everyone
Saving Mr. Banks, Good movie for the wife and I..you can find it to watch online with anchorman, and mitty if you look..

So far they have been good movies..I look forward to other movies opening, Wolf of Wall Street I will see tonight..

I watched Essex Boys Retribution recently. Gritty crime drama from Britain. It was not great, but not bad. I'd give it 5 Crumpets out of 10

I remember Eddie McGee from his time on the CBS reality show Big Brother. I made it about 20 mins into Human Race, got boring fast. Started out intriguing though.

You are smoking the glass pipe..It was awesome, especially if you enjoyed the first one. The fight scene is one of the best scenes in the movie

I'm not a fan of the first one, so it's not even on my radar.

I personally can't stand Will Ferrell and just don't get what people see in him. He's not funny. He's just not. Most any movie I've ever seen him in is funny because of the other people in it and Farrell's performance is totally forgettable. I saw the first one...found it rather lame. Will not waste my time or money on the second...

Just saw Anchorman 2. Overall have to say I liked it more than the first. Still lots of overly stupid humor, but that is what these movies are. I agree lots of his stuff can fall flat, but he still has some great ones. Step-Brothers, Blades of Glory, and Talladega Nights are classic.

Yes, and it has more stars than I have seen in a single scene

Just saw The Lone Survivor and I enjoyed it. It's based on a story of a Navy SEALS team mission gone wrong. Based on the title, you can guess how it ends. The action and fight scenes were brutal. From what I heard, the director tried to keep it as realistic as possible based on the accounts of Marcus Luttrell (the actual lone survivor of the mission). I don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but all will say is that it did a great job of capturing the ugliness of war and the casualties that come with it. Thanks to all those who serve and have served defending our country.

Next movie on the list to check out is "Her". The concept seems a bit out there, but I'm a fan of Spike Jonze.

Watched saving mr. banks again. I have to honestly say, if you grew up with Disney, this will mean a lot to you. Being 47, I remember Mary Poppins very well, and the 2nd time was better than the first. Emma should win an oscar for this one..

I agree, I'm still thinking about it after seeing it. Phenomenal film. Highly recommended. Has elements of what's going on in today's world strewn through out it. Scary actually.

I never saw Children of Men either now that I think about it. Surprised why I never saw it. Looks like I'll need to see it now after hearing all of this good stuff about it!

The wifey and I had a day off from the kids yesterday, so we saw "Her" by Spike Jonze. I loved it. Joaquin Phoenix plays a guy in the not too distant future that falls in love with his computer's operating system. I know it sounds like a dumb and cheesy idea, but I felt like nothing in the movie was out of reach in terms of technology. Conversational responses with your computer, artificial intelligence, gesture and voice control always being connected to a computer (e.g. Smartphone, Google Glass, etc) are all getting closer and closer to what was presented in the movie. Scarlett Johansson was the voice of the AI/OS and did a fantastic job with the role. Chris Pratt (aka Star Lord in next year's GotG movie) made an appearance in the movie, too, and was hilarious. I loved the visuals, soundtrack and technology. The characters were all very personable. Even Johansson's character felt like a real person. Plus one for the soundtrack by The Arcade Fire, too. Definitely recommend it!
