Default Indy's Toy Pick of SDCC 2014

So far after looking at all the exclusives and uber cool toys at the upcoming SDCC show, the toy to beat IMHO and the one which will realize insane resale prices is.. drum roll please..

SDCC 2014 EXCLUSIVE LEGO ROCKET'S WARBIRD GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY ROCKET RACCOON

This thing not only is ONLY available at SDCC, but features a variant Rocket Raccoon Lego figure in a red outfit instead of the orange one he wears in the store bought playsets. This thing is going to SkyROCKET in value IMHO and I'm picking it for most sought after toy at the show. If you're on the fence about getting one, make that commitment early or your wallet will suffer.

If you're going to the show, it will cost you $39.99 on the floor. Outside the show on the secondary, expect that to be at least 3-4x out the gate, and rapidly rising as they dry up.

Not only will Guardians fans be going after it, but Lego fans are nuts, spending thousands of dollars on tiny plastic brick playsets down the road.

Honorable Mention: Big Hero 6 Baymax SDCC Exclusive

Another exclusive SDCC Disney item, and if the movie is a hit, and I think it will be, these will EXPLODE in value. Picking them up at $60-$80 each now is a good price IMHO. Could see 2-3x that by Christmas.

Rumor has it there is going to get a Batman Lego set that is $200. The last Batman set at SDCC was $70ish and sells now for $500-600.

I think the big winner again will be the Magic the Gathering exclusive at Hasbro. The 2013 set still sells for $450 and up. The 2014 set is already over $400 in presales. If it sells out on the first day again like it did last year, this one is going to go up more.

The Lego sets I think will hold their value, too. Agree with Indy that if the movie is a hit this will only go up and up. Especially once Marvel expands on their cosmic universe and set collectors will need this ship.

Big Hero 6 has potential. The kids and I are excited for this one. Here's a hands-on preview of the toy if anyone is interested.

The Magic Set will definitely be the exclusive of the con.

Don't overlook the Bandai booth (Power Rangers) and the Mattel booth (Monster High and Ever After High Dolls).

Freebie wise the Lego Exclusive (I.e. The collector, Star Lord, etc.) will sell for nice premiums as well.

I think the winning item will be the guys who finally get to see a live girl in a hot cosplay outfit, just seeing a woman will be new, but one in a cosplay will be the winner...

RR stuff will sell right out the front door.

The longer you look at it in reference to the original quote I quoted with it...it gets even funnier. I'm still laughing.

The RR Plush can be picked up at Toys R Us, it's not exclusive for SDCC, and TRU has them for $25.
