that wouldn't be that bad. A shot at some nice color or a 1/1 in every slot with 8 cases!

All of the packages were dropped off at the PO earlier today. Really wanted to get them out on Saturday morning, but work and my laziness kept it from happening. Everything should reach you before Christmas, which was my original goal.

As for the next break, I am strongly considering using a suggestion from Chris (something that I have done before) where the base RC's would be a case slot. So if you take Strausburgh, you would get the Chromes, auto, and parallels but no regular base cards. That would save me a lot of sorting and add a few extra slots to the break that will help knock down the price.

Thoughts?

I like the idea! I am a wise man Patrick, even for a Cubs' fan!

I would rather get the base bowman personally. In a rookie break those can still be pretty good. But I will go with the majority.

I like the idea, even though Chris' Rangers caused me to lose out on a gift card in the Baseball promo.

That was my original suggestion, 1 prospect/usa base and 1 rc base per case would give us 16 more slots in an 8 case break (base bowman only for both). Also, it would make Patrick's job MUCH easier and lower the slot price somewhat. What do you guys think?

I like it...I would even like getting all base from one case.

I think you are on the right track. I think the only problem is the estimated cost around $30 and the effect that it will be harder to fill in general even without those extra slots. I don't think the 16 new slots will have a big affect over the 250 or so slots that already exist. I remember the 09 Sterling group break fizzling out not even at the halfway mark. There might have been other reasons for not filling but I felt the cost scared away a lot of folks. My feeling is that we should try to minimize the number of slots just to get the break off the ground and to also make it easiest for Patrick to sort in general. 16 slots is not much but I think plenty of folks who usually jump on Patrick's breaks will cut back the number of slots they grab since the hype is dying down pretty quickly on this set. Maybe 4 case lots for the RC/Prospect for the 8 case for 4 new slots.
My opinion is that a 4 case break would be much easier to fill with 2 new base RC/Prospect to make it easier to sort but I understand wanting to go out with a bang with a 8 case BDPP break.

The $30 estimate is a bit high as the price has gone down since the last time I looked at it and set up the first one. I emailed Chris to see if he would have 8 cases available. If he does, I will set it up for that many. If we seem to be having a hard time filling it at 8 cases, I will scale back to 6 and see how it goes. If that is still floundering, I will drop to 4. May as well aim high and cut back if needed

I would probably sit this one out if the base prospects and rookies became a slot per case. But, I'm sure it will fill with or without me so do whatever you prefer.

I'm leaning toward leaving the USA and Prospects as part of those slots and just doing the RC's as their own slots. But who knows, I may just end up leaving it as is and just do the sort as I normally would. I will figure that all out when I get the availability and price back from Chris.

I like this idea... too many prospects that I would be getting my first cards of... it would be a bummer to not hit much of anything and not at least have a base lot to add to the collection

Well, got some news. I had sent Chris an e-mail last night about availability on this. He can do up to 5 cases. Problem is, he depleted his stock and had to re-buy this morning. I will be able to get a few at the lower price and a few at the higher price. When I get a concrete price back from him, I will let everyone know and fire off a new thread.

5 caser will still deliver a lot of hits for everyone, and then you can do the slots any way you want to Patrick.

Also, one more case adds another AFLAC and USA auto slot! Looking forward to getting into this one!!

I believe they go to whoever chose the USA slot in that particular case.

All of the USA autos from each case went to the USA auto slot holder.
