I am looking for the next cheap, fun break.
We just did a case of Topps and a pack of Bowman Sterling that only cost $22.60 per slot. What I am looking for is a cheap case with 1 pack of a high end product. We can discuss the high end product in this thread - 2010 Sterling is nice with 2 or 3 autos, but TTT or Tribute (couple packs?) might be good too. Please vote on the cheap product too in this thread. i think I will wait until Thursday night to post the new break... I will host whatever break is chosen here in this thread. Options: 1. 2010 Topps Chrome $529.99 2. 2006 Topps 52 $369.00 3. 2008 SP Authentic $610.00 4. 2010 Bowman Chrome $559.00 5. 2010 Topps 206 $564.95 6. 2010 Bowman Platinum 6 box case $499.90 Granted, there may be redemptions in the older stuff... EDIT: Those interested in a cheap, fun club: First break will be Bowman Platinum. Everyone that wants a spot in the club and then anyone that voted for Platinum would get a spot (pending your confirmation). This club will be entirely different from every other club out there: 1. A member of the club gets a guaranteed spot in the break - however, you can pass on any break. What I mean is, you owe nothing. Don't like the break? Skip it. You still are a member and you still get a spot in the next break. Please do not skip too many in a row though. 2. There are NO monthly dues. You only pay for the breaks you want. 3. You can have multiple spots. 4. The goal is a $20 - $30 break per spot (preferably about $25). 5. We can do team breaks or hit breaks. Most should be team, but some older (cheaper) products have expired redemptions - in that case we should do a hit break. No one wants to "win" expired autos. 6. You do NOT have to be a member to participate in the break - any left over spots are open to anyone on BO. (So what is the benefit of the club? A guaranteed spot. How many times have you found a cool break only to see it was already full?) Eventually, I want to be a member too. I am not sure if that will be ok now though because I have little itrader feedback - but I would like a spot down the line. What do you think about the club idea now? Basically it is just a PM and a spot for each new break. In most clubs you have to break what the majority wants - in this club you can skip any break you don't think is fun. I am doing my first cheap, fun break tonight. I will post the link in here too - please come and watch. Potential Club Members: 1. JDK16 2. thatkidbilly 3. Dacubs 4. jusdukky 5. The700Level 6. ReinholdMessner 7. Bruvydsb 8. kelleys1 9. peterose4hof 10. gocards2 12. joserobles 13. bboi 14. grahamgdogg 15. Troybuilts (1 spot each case) 16. Poonchka (1 spot each case) To be honest, for all intents and purposes, we have enough members already to make this club. Since we open each break up to everyone anyway, I think every break should fill. Last edited by houdini; 05-22-2011 at 09:55 PM. |

My idea is that many of us spend $20 or $30 a week on blasters and random packs anyway. Why not use that same $ to participate in a cheap, fun case break? However, don't fret - we can do all these options eventually. What should we throw in for the high-end pack? |

Well, it looks like Bowman Platinum is winning, but there is still time.
I have learned something else too - every product has some interest... I think we will be able to keep doing these breaks for awhile. Is there any interest in a cheap, fun club? Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly? No set teams, but a price of only $25 or $30 per break each person. Don't actually need a club, but it would guarantee you a spot in the break. Thoughts? |

For this next break (probably '10 Platinum and 1 or 2 packs of Tribute), we will random for the teams like every other team break. Sorry for any confusion. I was just thinking out loud.

I guess I'd rather not do a club but maybe you can get a list of 15-20 guys that get a PM when you put a new break up or something. I don't like clubs because I like to pick and choose which products I get in on, but there's so many of them now that people aren't just doing regular breaks as much. Just my 2 cents.

I am game too. I love the idea of $25 for a mess of cards
I think what houdini really wants to know is, is there enough interest in a cheap break where the spots would fill up in day and the break will happen within days of testing the waters (quick turnaround) |

Ok everyone, it looks like there might just be enough interest in a club.
