im so anxious for the random on this one, such a disparity between getting a top 10 pick and getting pick number 425 or something like that

Are we looking at about a 4:15 PM (CST) Deadline for payments today? I'm also pretty anxious to see this random!

Yeah, there is still 6+ hours left to pay.

I will send the remaining people a reminder.

At around 7pm, I will pm the back-up and reserve list to please get ready.

At 7:15 those spots will be available.

Look, I know that some people will say that there is not a lot of time and that I am rushing the payment; however, everyone agreed to the 24 hour deadline when they joined this break (just like the live draft and the full list). Plus, I have let everyone know to please get your payments ready before hand.

Do not take this as a hit against anyone who has not paid yet - that is not the case at all - this is just for anyone who misses the deadline. It is absolutely not personal. Thanks.

I much prefer this pace to some of the breaks that I have been in where they drag on over several weeks

Exclamation

Question from PM:
Quote:
Please pick any available Cub.
Look, I think you are great people, but I am not building your lists for you. I have already done that and it is here: Houdini BDDP Sterling Example Draft List.txt

(Also, homerunoveryou built you this: CFB6.zip)

I am not going to go through all the prospects trying to guess who is a cub, phillie, or yankee. It is just not going to happen.

Not just because I have enough to do already, but also because everyone else is building their lists and it would unnecessarily (and unfairly) hold up the entire draft while I searched for your team. Build your list or use the example.

Thanks.

Hey Houdini,

Question: Is the random gonna take place right after everyone is paid and the order has been sent?

Thanks

Chris, please pick the available player with the highest FIP or OPS, or whoever has a birthdate whose digits add up to the highest prime number. Thanks!

That, my friend, is up to the mods. I have had randoms done in minutes and also randoms that took until the next day. Sometimes they are busy...

Based on the excitement and interest in this break ... I'm hoping the mods will be around tonight at 7 to do the random right away

Here is something else to think about:

Blowout is sending us $140.00 of free product. I have no idea what it is except that it is baseball.

It will probably be older stuff. Anyway, whatever we pull gets randomed! Who knows... our best pull could come from this!

Any guesses on what they might send us?

Oh, one other thing:

If we win the "best pulls" contest, the prize will be busted and randomed.

We should ask for a 2011 Bowman Jumbo box ... gives a decent shot at a Harper to random off.

Well, I actually wanted to give them the option to pick as a "thank you" for always helping us out with our breaks. Just think of it as an unexpected bonus - that way it will be cool even if we get a redemption.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. haha

(I wonder how many people did not join this break because we got such bad cases last time?)

I dont know...I picked the 08 BDPP because those boxes were on clearout for $144, so it seemed a nice fit.

As for last break, who knows...my only 3 group break experiences are

2-team football break shut out
CBF V
20/240 spots purchased and best random spot was #38

And yet im back for more

Houdini, this is the first one of your breaks that I have participated in, and I am extremely impressed. This break is a huge undertaking and you are managing it superbly. Great job!

I like to believe in the law of averages...last one stunk up the place, so we are gonna hit big this time

I have been a host now more times than I have been a participant, but these breaks really are a lot of fun. I even have my Dad wanting to join and he hasn't bought cards since he closed his store.
