You are underestimating the amount of work this would take for me to do it. Figure about 10 hours of straight live draft to do 263 picks. That may be ok for the participants, but not for me.

Marginally that is true. However, the real value in these later picks are the parallels - and there is no way of knowing anyway. If we can come up with a feasible method to draft all these picks, that's great - otherwise I think a second half random is the only remaining option.

Yes, but think about it, we would be adding another 60+ spots to the draft - that would be 600 spots!

The idea is to add an extra value to late picks. Think about it - now every pick - even those in the 500s are worth 1/10th of a marquee hit. If you want to sell your late picks, they are now more valuable!

It looks like the single slot option is winning 2 to 1. Do you want 2 of those?

For the people that are looking to draft certain teams or players, random does not help at all. Why not random the entire draft if the bottom half gets randomed?

I gotta say I kind of agree here...prospectors, and there are plenty of them, wouldn't mind the 2nd half random, but as someone whose luck guarantees latter half picks, I'd like to be able to grab my PC guys and teams, etc....

It may just simply be too big of a break....

I would prefer not to random. You could make sending a list a requirement and for anyone who hasn't submitted a list, they get the highest default ranking from your list. Might still be a fair amount of work for you as host (which I am still concerned with), but no waiting for people to log in and pick. I'm sure someone with some database skills could probably even find a way to load the draft order and all the pre-ranked and default lists to automate it. Just my 2 cents.

I couldn't automate it without revealing everyone's picks... but yeah, I will be able to build a database this time, it won't be so bad.

If we add in a few, live drafts, we can definitely get it done in a week.

The second half random was just an idea. Thanks.

so, as it stands now, the entire break will be drafted, then the draft list will be randomed for the Marquee break...correct? just making sure I am following everything correctly.

However, after thinking it through logically, I can do 1 of these...

For every 10 spots, you may choose to:

A. Get 1 guaranteed Marquee hit/spot (of the 60). If you do so, these 10 spots are removed from the Marquee random (and slightly raising the odds for everyone else). Trading does not count.

B. Keep your spots in the marquee random with the odds of approximately 1.14 spots per 10 spots in the main draft. You could get none or multiple this way.

Before anyone freaks out, the people getting the guaranteed marquee spot are RAISING your chances of getting a marquee hit! Think it through, this is good for you!

Watch out though, we haven't heard from Troybuilts or Riversoule yet...

There is also the possibility of a reappearance from frankferry and/or exp.

The 4 of them combined will probably end up with 100+ spots if they get going.
