2011 Leaf Rookie Retro HIGH RISK "Per Box, By the Grade" Case Break

Considering I pulled both dead slots I'm all for the dead slots taking their corresponding .5s

ie. PSA 8+auto take psa 8.5 and PSA 7+auto take psa 7.5

I think that would be more fair as I have 0% chance of hitting and someone with PSA 9, PSA 8, or PSA 7 would have a slight edge with the auctioning the .5 between slot owners. I'm a little biased though.

We could do one of 2 things for the .5 PSA cards. We could take the 2 dead slots and make those .5 slots (PSA 7+Auto would be PSA 7.5 and any lower half grade and the PSA 8+Auto slot would be PSA 8.5 and any higher half grade) or random the half grade card between the 2 closest slot holders (ie. if a PSA 7.5 was pulled it would be randomed between the PSA 7 and PSA 8 slots) and leave the 2 dead slots.

Again I apologize. Thought this was working rather well for an idea I pulled out of my ass lol.

My biased vote would be for the option of the 2 dead spots getting the PSA .5's as you suggested above. No hard feelings either way....I like the concept of this break.

I'll make the change then! Easy enough fix lol. I just added the half grades to the corresponding auto slots so in case something weird happens and we get a PSA 7/8 auto so we're not in a weird position.

Greetings all,

I'm pretty new to group breaks (I've done one) and not super familiar with graded cards. I am looking forward to this though as it's such a fun product to see the breaks for.

If I'm reading the Random results correctly, I ended up with:

Box 2:

PSA 7
BGS 9 + auto
BGS 8.5
BGS 9.5
PSA 9+ auto

Box 3:

PSA/JSA Authentic + auto
BGS 9.5 + auto
PSA 9 + auto
PSA 9
BGS 8 or lower + auto

Can someone take a peek and validate I lined up the numbers right?

Also, I'm assuming the Grade + auto (i.e. BGS 9.5 + auto) really refers to a BGS graded card that already has an on-card auto, such as a Bowman Chrome Auto Rookie card. Is this correct? Therefore, my BGS 9.5 + auto slot would be a winner if a Mike Stanton Bowman Chrome Auto RC BGS 9.5 was in the box correct?

As for some of the earlier comments...

I believe the checklist doesn't account for the multiples so a BGS 9 Fleer Jordan RC could potentially appear again...

It looks like I have some great possibilities... how about the Lebron Exquisite or Tiger Woods Sp Authentic BGS 9.5 rookies?

On the downside, I hope for everyone that my BGS 8 or lower + auto doesn't hit because I'm pretty sure only 2 cards on the checklist meet that criteria, a Mike Wallace Exquisite RC and a Strasburg Glove Auto from USA - not bad hits for the cost of the slot but not too exciting either...

Help me out. I'm struggling to understand what card(s) would qualify as this. I see no cards that would meet this criteria... unless some of the Buyback auto's are actually graded???

Your spots both look correct to me and you are correct on what you said for the grade+auto slots except it doesn't have to be on card, it can be a sticker too. Basically if it came out of the original pack with an auto it would fall under the grade+auto category.

Some slots are better than others which creates the enticement to enter this sort of break. For future breaks like this I can combine some of the "worse" slots together but that would increase the per slot price and with a product like this, once you get to a certain slot price, you might as well get a whole box of it for yourself.

Not at all complaining. I think the format is perfect. It's all a gamble so I'm happy to take the bad with the good. I have a chance at some of the very best cards included in the set and that's all one can ask for.
