2012 Topps Finest Baseball 5 Case RANDOM TEAM Break

Congratulation to all those who did well in the break, there were many of you!!

We are coming up on the release date of 2012 Topps Finest Baseball rather quickly. It was a favorite of mine when I was a kid, and this year is looking like it is going to be a great product. In theory we will get at least 1 HOT BOX (1:4 cases) where every card in a numbered parallel. There have also been a few new additions, Trevor Bauer and Will Middlebrooks will both have RC autos in this years Finest.

There will only be 27 spots in this break. I looked through the checklist and as of now the Orioles, Astros, and Indians HAVE NO CARDS in the product. If anyone from these teams ends up in the checklist we will random the cards out. From a quick glace, most teams will have the opportunity for an auto, but some teams have no auto's available.

There are (as of right now) 5 Rookie Redemptions, numbered 1-5. If Topps announces ahead of time who all, or some, of the redemptions will be of, those will go to the team who that player plays for at the time of the break. This has to be from Topps, and not speculation from the hobby community. If none, or not all, are announced these will be randomed to the teams who get no autos in the break. If every person gets an auto then the RC Redemptions will be randomed amongst every spot.

Topps has just annouced that Rookie Redemption #1 is Starling Marte for the PIRATES. This card now belongs to that spot

Since this is a RANDOM TEAM BREAK, once we are full and paid up a moderator will random the list of spots 5 times to come up with the order. Then a moderator will random the list of 27 teams 5 times. The lists will then be matched up, from top to bottom on each list, to determine the team that you will be getting in the break.

You may buy/sell/trade within the break, but please do not sell a spot to an outside forum member without checking with me first.

Shipping (Priority Flate Rate Envelope) and supplies = $7
Paypal Fee’s = (144.96 * .029 + .30) = $4.50

• The break will take place live on Ustream.com and will be recorded if you cannot not make the break time.
• If you hit a card worth $250 or more you will be required to pay additional shipping costs for insurance and/or certified mail.

It's possible I suppose. What would the guys that have already committed think? Or those that are thinking about getting in on this break?

Doing separate randoms is a bit more work for me, but not enough to where I wouldnt do it.

I'd be in for one random spot but would prefer the same team throughout all cases. I got hosed when Houdini did his Tribute break with random teams for each box, $300 and NO cards. Just my opinion.

Luckily with this break you will get cards, but I know what you mean. Thanks for your input.

Last year a team like the dbacks had only justin upton (the better upton brother) and 5 cases of a team with only one player @150 beans,
you might want to make sure every team is properly represented

Looks like the Mets only have a Wright non auto in the checklist unless I missed someone.

There are teams that might only have 1 or 2 players, but the gamnle is part of the fun IMO. That being said, if more people would rather have multiple randoms I dont mind doing that.

They will go to the team that they are on at the time of the break. If they do something like the lucky redemptions in Bowman then we will just have to random them.

i vote for one team. especially with how we are doing this break right after release i feel like the potential to sell team stuff is better with 5 cases worth of cards as opposed to 1 case of 5 diff teams...although the risk is a bit greater.
