We could then do a 6 box case of 2012 Bowman Platinum in Oct. (currently $674.95) which would still leave us with about $75 for overage which we could then use for Bowman DPP in Nov.

Again all this assuming the winner each month follows this path and prices stay relatively close to where they are.

Same here. We should figure out what we want to start off with.

2011 Bowman Platinum 6 Box Case... $549.95 -- 3 hits per box + numbered refractors

2010 Bowman Chrome 12 Box Case... $619.95 -- 1 auto per box + numbered refractors

2010 Topps Chrome 12 Box Case... $554.95 -- 2 autos per box + numbered refractors

2012 Topps Heritage 12 Box Case... $584.00 -- 1 Auto or Relic per box + numbered chrome cards.

2011 Topps Tier One 6 Box Case...$449.95 -- 3 hits per box + all base and parallel cards are numbered...there would only be 42 total cards pulled with this option so people could get shut out.

We could piece together boxes of stuff as well such as 2 Boxes of 2010 Bowman Baseball ($255.90) + 2 Boxes of 2011 Bowman Baseball ($135.80)+ 2 Boxes of 2012 Bowman Baseball ($157.90) + a single throw-in box of 2011 Bowman Chrome ($89.90) for a total of $639.50. Not as fun as a full case, but wanted to throw it out there as an option since this range of years covers a lot different team's prospects.

There's also the 2011 Topps Lineage case for $494.95. 10 boxes per case, 3 hits per box. Not a lot of numbered cards though.

Really though I'd be down for whatever. I just was looking to see the best value we could get to stay under our initial $650 spend.

Cool deal. Unless anyone else can think of something else, I suppose we can have Catfish random these 3 to determine what we get.

+1. I vote to random these 3 for first break.

Ok, I've noticed some talk about overages. The thing is, there aren't any carry overs from one month to the next because the idea is that everyone has the same $650 to work with each month. Since it's a competition, I want it to be as level as possible in the starting amount. I also don't want to dip into the extra $60 per month (at least not much) because that's what goes towards the championship matchup.

I'd assume then any overage each month would be added to the pool for the championship?

If we're not going to carry overages over from month to month, I'd just say we try to get as close to the $650 and any left over goes to the champ pool.

With that said, how about these suggestions:

2011 Bowman Platinum 6 Box Case... $549.95 -- 3 hits per box + numbered refractors + 1 additional box 2011 Bowman Platinum Box ... $92.95 for a grand total of $642.90

2010 Bowman Chrome 12 Box Case... $619.95 -- 1 auto per box + numbered refractors ... not really much we can add to this one to keep us under $650.

2010 Topps Chrome 12 Box Case... $554.95 -- 2 autos per box + numbered refractors + 2 additional boxes of 2010 Topps Chrome .. $97.90 for a grand total of $652.85

Yeah, the idea is to use $650 or as close as possible per month. I would usually recommend a +/- $10. Anything left over goes to the championship pool.

The cases sound fine to me. I personally am more of a mixed box kind of guy.
Any suggestions though will go onto the list for randomization, so you guys keep em coming.

At the 650 number I would definitely think mixed boxes work better. If a case is that cheap, there's a reason.

Mixed boxes work too. I went out and just pieced something together that runs through a mix of chances at prospects + high-end + middle tier stuff:

2012 Bowman Plat $114.95 .... 3 hits per box plus numbered parallels
2 x 2012 Gypsey Queen $179.95 ... 4 hits per box plus numbered parallels. Basically the bulk of the break and just your middle tier stuff with your chance to hit "singles" and "doubles" in the competition.
1 x 2012 Topps Museum Collection $284.95 ... 4 hits plus numbered stuff. Would be the dessert box and could put somebody ahead in the competition.
1 X 2011 Bowman Baseball $67.90 ... 1 auto, numbered parallels. Some decent prospects.

Total = $647.95

There's also the earlier mixed Bowman break I presented earlier which consisted of:

We could piece together boxes of stuff as well such as 2 Boxes of 2010 Bowman Baseball ($255.90) + 2 Boxes of 2011 Bowman Baseball ($135.80)+ 2 Boxes of 2012 Bowman Baseball ($157.90) + a single throw-in box of 2011 Bowman Chrome ($89.90) for a total of $639.50.

I say random the ideas. We can always go back to the others in future months unless prices go up significantly. By the way catfish, I will send my payment tonight after my sons' baseball games.

Here's another suggestion I'll throw out there. Sort of a "Tribute" to vintage themed break with a dessert box thrown in:

1 x 2012 Topps Gypsey Queen....89.95

1 x 2012 Topps Heritage.....49.95

1 x 2012 Topps Archives......77.95

1 x 2010 Topps T-206 53.95

And the dessert box:

1 x 2012 Topps Tribute ........379

Total is $650.80

I'm just trying to throw together some break packages so we have some that can be randomized.

This one definitely needs to be done soon. The Tribute would be a sweet break.

Thanks man! I'm pretty new to the site so figured I'd try and contribute as much as I can to get people familiar with me.

I see some people have said they've paid already? I don't see anything on where to pay to. I'm assuming that'll be on here once this gets moved to active and that the people who have paid already where probably part of the last season of this break league. If I'm missing something though as far as payment goes, let me know.

Any other suggestions that Catfish can randomize from or should we have him randomize between one of the 3 multi-box suggestions I've put out there? If there's one that everyone wants over the other, like that Tribute break, I suppose we could rig the system to get that one to come out on top for the first break

Please no topps T206. 2010 bowman chrome is the same price and way better value.

Question and another idea.
Can we trade teams for a break?
Ideas:
4 boxes 2011 donruss elite
4 boxes 2012 Bowman

Or just to rack up points
2008 Bowman chrome case
2010 Bowman Box
2012 Bowman Box

Or
3 Boxes 2011 Topps Chrome
2 Boxes 2011 Triple Threads

Another
5 Boxes 2011 Topps Finest(or 6 2012)

Just some ideas, don't put them in the random if no one likes them.

I may be alone in saying this but I am not too excited about anything other than Topps or Bowman or Upper Deck before 2010. I just don't see any sale value on unlicensed hits I don't plan on keeping. BUT, I definitely won't complain if the winners pick the stuff because they earned the right to choose. Just my .02.
