I know I did very well to start with the random, and think I've traded for more value. In addition, I didn't want any autos, so I think I'll nab a few good prospects, rookies and inevitably some base and parallel.

I'd love to hear some opinions on my GM skills.

Just out of curiosity, how come you don't want any autos? Not judging by any means...but as someone who is more of an autograph collector than anything else, I'm not too familiar with this thinking

The one thing you can say is that you've certainly increased your chances of hitting some really low-numbered parallels (provided most of your picks go to prospects/rookies).

Looking at this from a case breaking perspective, Autos are very hit and miss. 20 cases / 12 autos per case / 240 autos. That's 6 per player on average, and some players will be high, others low.

In terms of RC's, I know I'll nab an average of 30-40 per player (and up to 100 on the prospects). More of a guarantee for me ...

I broke 20 cases of Bowman Chrome, nabbed 320 autos (33% more) and my best prospect auto in 20 cases was probably a Garcia Blue. (Purple Boss and Chafin ... YUCK)

Nab some good parallels, some good RC's and prospects, many chances at a bigger parallel or Super ... and guaranteed value (as close as I can get).

I played safe this time, rather than sorry.

Mike, totally hear ya. I learned my lesson when I took Rizzo rookie autos in a 5-caser of '11 Finest. I left Trout base on the board and only ended up with one base autograph

In the next break of the same product (a 10-caser this time), I took Trout base and left a ton of auto spots on the board. I ended up selling 40+ base rookie cards for $10-$15 each -- and that didn't even include parallels

I like it when someone buys the farm. I can pack their stuff first and have a large amount of the break done. Frankferry once bought about 25% of a break.

Also, usually when someone buys a lot of spots, I save $ on shipping. Have to make it rain somehow!

You might be surprised at my profit divided by hours worked. Consider the Bowman Chrome breaks we just ran for instance... even combining the shipping on the first two breaks, how much do you think I made per hour? Just opening the first 20 cases took 22 hours. It took 3 people 4 days to sort and package and it took me 2 days to ship.

I am not complaining. I love this part of my job.
