Received my cards. Nice base of Schaub as a plus. One question though. Do they make a top loader for the 8 piece patch card? Man that thing is thick.

Thanks again for Hosting the break.

The 7mm are too small. the best I have found are the 20 card 2 piece slide boxes. Other than that, in the gold pack boxes or in teambags surrounded by decoys was the best I could come up with.

So I got a response from the waste of space that is UD QA.

Quote:
Patrick,

Thank you for the detailed email regarding your group break of 09 NFL Exquisite. As one of your group break participants posted "Oh well, we know the risk going in. Nice job as always, UD stinks BTW". I am pretty sure that you are aware that there is a risk/chance involved when opening any sports card product. Yes, it stings a little more when big names are not pulled from a high end product. The good thing about group breaks is that it allows products that normally would not be affordable to the average collector access to the opportunity of experiencing the excitement of opening the best of the best! Also, when buying large amounts of a limited product, the odds of pulling duplicate cards increases. I have looked over your thread posts and see that all the appropriate cards were received. I see that you have sent the cards from the break to the participants and they all seem to be very happy. Let me know what cards were factory damaged and I will look to see if they can be replaced. If any of your participants received a damaged card, please have them contact the following email address; qa@upperdeck.com
All I wanted was an "I'm sorry about the bad break." A product that is 'hand packed for value' should never look like that garbage we ended up with. I am absolutely done with UD. I plead that all of you do the same and not waste your time with this POS company.

One more thing, they say with the limited production run you should expect to see dupes, but good f'ing God, 7 Nicks cards in 15 boxes is just f'ing ridiculous.

Standard responce I guess. At least I have a new avatar for a short time before I get rid of it. Just watching a few of these on the bay to get a general feel for pricing numbers that I could list it as a buy it now. And with the news that UD is almost out of the FB market. That should bring a smile to your face.

But put it to rest Pat. Like most of us have said before. You can't control what was placed in the boxes. So quit kicking yourself over this break. Have a beer. Shoot UD the bird. And then forget about it. LOL

And start thinking about Topps or Panini future group breaks.

Actually, there is a good chance the moron that sent the canned response didn't even realize UD stands for Upper Deck

I'm done kicking myself about the break. But I will be ever vigilant when it comes to tarnishing whatever name they have left. Nothing slanderous as it is all true. So f' those guys.

Pat,
I received my cards, thanks for the break. Any idea on the value of the Brees? My son says get rid of it and get a Favre auto.
Thanks again, Dave

Hard to say really. 1 moron sold one /35 BIN at $125 and another one went auction style more recently for $150+. With yours being /5 it could go for $400-500 if you attract the right buyers. Either way, it was by far the best card in the break.

I was thinking putting up a BIN/BO for 499 and seeing what happens, but didn't want to scare people away. I agree about it being one of the best cards. Its kind of sad that a case hit out of a $1500, 21 card case may not worth more than $200-300 but thats how it goes.
