2009 Topps Sterling 5 Box Case break.

Here is what I am proposing. Each participant in the break is randomly (random.org by a mod) matched up with 1 of the 71 different theme boxes. The participants who match
The 5 theme boxes received get the main “hit” from the theme box (#’d to 10 or lower)

At the time the MOD does the theme random he will also do a 2nd randomization of all 71 names for the rest of the hits in the box. The rest of the “hits” will be given out via the 2nd list. (If a slot “wins” one of the theme box main hits it is removed from the secondary list)

The secondary hits will be awarded in this order.
Box 1 2nd hit, Box 2 2nd hit, Box 3 2nd hit, Box 4 2nd hit Box 5 2nd hit.
Box 1 Mystery, Box 2 Mystery, Box 3 Mystery, Box 4 Mystery, Box 5 Mystery (Chance at a cut)
Box 1 base, Box 2 base, Box 3 base, Box 4 base, Box 5 base

Now I know this only amounts to 20 slot hits out of the 71 entries and as every slot will be charges a shipping charge and receive a partial refund if you do not win anything

Cost breakdown-
1072 5 box case/71 slots. $15.10/ $5.40 to cover shipping/supplies/fees

So it $20.50 for the 1st slot and $19.50 for each additional slot. If you do not win something you will be refunded $4.50 for the 1st slot and 3.50 for each additional slot.

It ends up being a low risk “gamble” where you get nothing in return but if you look at this year’s Exquisite FB breaks some people paid $85 for a $10 card.

Configuration: 5 boxes per case. 1 pack per box. 5 cards per pack.

Approved, good luck. I did bold two statements up top and want to post here as well, the configuration on this lowers the slot price substantially, however also adds the risk that you will not be getting anything for your slot price, if you are unsuccessful in the random.org results for the 5 main hits or the 15 additional slots.

Question: for the 51 slots that don't get anything, why are you only refunding $4(first)/$3(additional) when you are charging $5.40(first)/$4.40(additional) in "extras" to begin with. That's $1.40 in "extras" for each of those non-winning slots that you are keeping. PayPal fees are only about half of that.

Combine that with the fact that $5.40/$4.40 per slot for shipping/supplies/fees is a very high amount, especially on a break where each slot is only one card (fewer supplies, likely won't need insurance) and it looks like to me like there is too much profit built into this break...

3.00 for shipping (shipping should be under 2.00 per slot and then that a buck for supplies..at best thats what 30 cards (themed hit, 2nd hit, 3 base, mystery card)?

.83 (1.029+.3 paypal fees)
19.00 per slot. He's at 20.50. Its within the profit range. Refund rate is good as well (since by my math, he's refunding more than the true cost of about 3.83 in shipping and supplies).

The mods approved it and thus it is here. And I believe that the paypal fees are about 85-90 cents. I will make the shipping "refund" 4.50 and 3.50 per slot to everyone who joins this break except for you because you really don't want to be in it.

I wish you had been around when my last break actually cost me $10 more than I took in because I could have raised the price .25 per slot.

It's not the fact that he asked a question at all. There were threads about poeple making a very good amount of $$ off group breaks. The Mods do not allow that. This would have never made it to th elight of day if the charges were too much. So I decided to increase the refund by 50 cents.

50 cents = $25.50 less that will now be in the total.

As I said the reason this kind of bugs me it that my last break cost $10 more than I took in.

It was a reactionary post by me. If Brad had PM'd a Mod his concern he would have gotten the same answer as in the thread.

I took it a little personally.

If this stops you from getting a slot or 2 then so be it.

It's $5.40 for shipping supplies and fees. If you do not get a "hit" you receive $4.50 in Shipping/Supplies back.

I just bought 5 magnetic 130pt holders @ $2 each for the 5 big hits.
