If you did 06/07/08/09 Draft as a team break, wouldn't there be some really bad teams to get:
Cubs
Cards
Brewers
Mariners
Blue Jays
Indians
Tigers
Padres
to name a few!
I am basing this off of top autos/prospects/rc from each year off the top of my head, so I may be wrong. Also, redemptions for 07 BDPP have expired. Now if you get one of the top teams, then you are happy, if not, I guess it is all a gamble anyway. Also not sure about 08 BDPP being available anyway

Just sayin'
I think we've gone somewhere near this road before... '06 has two good autos - and a bunch of bums - but a chance at a few nice non-auto parallels... '07 has a horrible auto lineup, but a chance at some excellent non-auto parallels (although it was crazy overproduced)... '08 and '09 have great auto lineups.

I know some of us are 'chromies', but a case of '07 DEEE and/or '08 DEEE would almost ensure that every team would have some value. As with all team breaks, there will be a few dogs through.

Remember last year - in an 06-07-08 BDP break, I got the D-Rays - and completely struck out. A little luck trumps the right team

Personally, I favor the player drafts because it feels like an investment and not just chasing the "big hit". Even if you don't end up with the auto slots you still have plenty of prospect slots which should average 10 chromes from the same product assuming a 4 case break. These type of lots sell much easier than lots of 1-3 which is what you might average from a single case. I found that the team breaks for the prospect products tend to give you a misc. set of cards that are usually harder to move and relies too much on just lucking out and hitting the big team. The slots for the big mixed year team breaks are much harder to recoup money on based on experience. Even if you get a not so great slot in the player draft you are still dealing with quantity and is usually easier to get rid of.

I here you on the luck part curse, I had the Giants in the 07 BDP, 08 EEE and 08 Bowman team break that we did, and got skunked (unless you count Wendell Fairley Autos )

I, personally, agree with Tai on this. I would rather do the player, as opposed to the team for the reasons that he stated above. I just wish case prices would come back to earth a little bit and make it easier for all of us.

if the difference is 100 bucks between these cases and future cases
and we keeps layout the same it comes out about 52 cents more a slot

Hey Pat, you can keep all my base stuff - or give it away or whatever - just send me the chromes/refractors/autos etc ... in fact for the guys like Chacin, I dont even want the chromes - just the colored or refractor versions.

Hope this helps makes things a little easier

I'm thinking next time to do the break without the base cards. Just sending out the Chrome, gold, and refractors.

That would be ideal. It would make things ALOT easier on you.

Status update I was able to finish sorting everything last night by player. I started to package them up and printed the postage on a few. The remainder will be packed up and posted tonight when I get home. Everything should hit the mail tomorrow morning barring any setbacks.

Also, I will be setting up a new break today. It will be the exact same layout as this one only slightly more expensive as the price has gone up on the cases. I will also be removing the base cards (prospects, rcs, and wbc) from each slot as they just take way too long to sort. If you would like to have the base from your slot please request so and they will go out with the chromes/golds/refs. It will likely add a few days to me getting your stuff out though so keep that in mind.

At the current price, highly unlikely. Its not out of the realm of possibility though.

idea
sell all the base as extra slot/s or for like 200 bucks (is there not about 15 sets in 4 cases)

They would only be base sets, with no chrome or gold, so I am not sure that they are really worth it IMO

what if we added the base WBC cards as a slot, the base RC cards as a slot and the Base Prospect cards as a slot. That would be 3 more slots, little to no sorting, and help spread out the costs some.

Just an idea to consider.

Or just do all the base cards as a slot, only adds one slot and then there is zero sorting for the base cards. Puts us at 192 slots, and if anyone really wants the base cards, then just draft that slot.
