Am I the only one thinking some of the prospect slots would be better picks over a number of the autos considering you're not guaranteed more than one (auto) since there's like 50 total on the checklist?

Some yes, some no. If Harper doesn't go in the top 3 I will be befuddled. I would also have some of the other USA guys and some of the prospects that also have autos up in the top part of my list.

There is really value all the way down the list on this stuff for a break like this. It all comes down to the luck of the draw really.

So do I. The golds alone should pay for the slot price. Sell them on sportlots for $.18-1.50 depending on the player. And then the blues, oranges, plates and possible red 1/1's almost make it a no-brainer of a pick.

Not to mention that you should get a few sets 1-190 per slot.

Hard to say. They could go somewhere in the 50-75 range. But might also fall into the mid 100's. Guess it all comes down to the slot holders though process.

I get what you are saying but the price has been so inflated with 2010 Bowman the result is the price per chrome is likely going be higher than the going rate on ebay. Right now only a few of the "base" prospects have any legs at all and (really only Strasburg) so the value of the slot would need to come from the chromes. If my wrapper math is correct you should get around 17 chromes and since you paid $42 then it's already ~$2.50 per chrome assuming no parallels pop up. If you are the conservative type than it would better suit you to take a prospect slot but you are likely already paying a premium. If you don't mind losing your money then you should try for the auto parallels which should hold their values better since we now know they are hobby exclusive.

Since the price is so high right now a break like this probably is the only time you have a shot at multiple autos of anyone on the checklist(also since retail is a dead-end). Most of us will never have a chance to burn through 4 cases on our own so might as well take a chance imo

Ahh. Not real sure about hobby, but Jumbo is 1 each per pack.

On the sell sheet it says Top 100 & 92 Throwback are 22 per hobby box and 12 per jumbo box while Expectations are 8 per hobby box and 6 per jumbo box. It works out to 5 sets for the Expectations and Throwbacks and 6 sets for the Top 100 assuming perfect collation. They are all solid spots based on the shear quantity of cards you will get.

Yeah I guess I just feel your odds are much better of getting a parallel on base rookies than on the autographs. You'll have a parallel auto maybe every few boxes but parallels of other cards are five or six a box.
