Yeah I love it but you are right, the Clinton 1/1 cut and the 1/1 Arod logoman auto are up there. But we shall see what blowout decides on.

im sorry but imo the Clinton is still winning this months...not too many past president autos out there that are 1/1's...But this is a sick hit when did you hit it? was it in a case break or just a few boxes?

It was my second box out of a case -- last week. When I saw 'Lou' I simply assumed it would be one of the several other Lous in the set.

The only reason why I'm not on-board with the Clinton cut is because you could have got his signature at his book signing -- and he signed hundreds of books. I got one here in DC at Politics and Prose. He's still alive, and still signing-- so I'm on the fence.

The Clinton is nice, but I just can't get too excited when it's a cut of a person that is alive. I know it's not going to be easy to get him to sign cards directly due to who he is, but it can be done, especially since he is no longer the president. Gehrig should win this hands down unless something else mind blowing shows up by Sunday night.

After having such good luck with that Gehrig in the case of 2007 Legendary Cuts, I decided to do some research on the 2008 product. It seemed a lot 'softer' than the 2007 product, and I wasn't seeing anything extraordinary coming out of it. Nevertheless, I'm heading out to Utah next week... and I thought it was worth a shot before I left, and got a case delivered today. (Thanks Chris!)

This was the cut....

Best two-case, multi-product break ever? Thoughts?

Have I come close to any Blowout records?

This is a tough month to call with the A. Rod., Clinton, and now Ruth.

I still like that Gehrig card the best -- it is just a very attractive card, I only wish the signature was more robust. Gehrig seems to be a bit rarer than Ruth too. Can anyone provide some input on that?

Actually, I would've thought the Gehrig would beat out the Arod & without a doubt it should beat out the Clinton. But, the Ruth is a HUGE hit. Of course, the Ruth & Gehrig were pulled by the same person. So, I say.....they win.

I know the A-Rod is a 1/1 with a Logoman, but damn, a Ruth cut?! Sure, there are a few out there, but can you really argue that?

I just redeemed my Mystery Cut for the 2008 Case, so I'll let everyone know what it is when it comes back. There's exactly one Roberto Clemente Cut in Wave 2 of the Mystery Cuts. Wouldn't that be something.

I just fed-ex'd these off to Beckett get graded. $105.00 for two day insured shipping on my corporate account -- sheese! Hopefully they won't screw me too badly on the grading!

Personally I think the Bill Clinton is at best a $500-800 card. I don't follow AROD prices that closely, is that logoman auto worth $1000-1500? The Gehrig is probably worth around $3000, and if you check on ebay, another Ruth cut auto from 2008 Legendary Cuts numbered 6/8 sold for $6000 recently.

Luckily (and amazingly) the same person pulled both the Gehrig and Ruth. Can you imagine if you had posted the Gehrig and then someone else posted the Ruth a few days later? I would never have imagined the Gehrig would lose out and would have been pissed... well, for a few minutes anyway, since I still would have pulled a Gehrig cut!

Here's to hoping one of these days I will pull something worth posting for the contest!

To be completely honest, I was more excited with the Gehrig than the Ruth. The card is just so aesthetically pleasing! I've been doing a bit of research on the sales prices from the past -- there's actually a site that's complied a lot of it: http://www.nolanryancardmuseum.com/AutoSales.doc The prices are sales compiled as of 2008 -- but it gives a nice baseline. If nothing else, it shows how market demand has dropped A LOT for some of these players!

hmm your "join date" is Feb. 2010..you pulled a gehrig cut from 2007 and a Ruth cut from 2008 all in Feb 2010 (the same month joined)....interesting and really hard for me to believe but still nice hits (and yes I am jealous).

Just as hard for me to believe! And it happened to me!

I wasn't even aware of the contest until Chris told me about it -- a reply to my 'thank you' email to him for the product/pull.
