But like I said, I had a lot of money in there (500$ + at some point) and needed these funds to buy something else. So this is one time that the 20% fee really hit me hard (withdraw of 400$ = 80$ fees )But most of the time I just use my funds to buy some cards there. Which is good for COMC sellers because people are willing to spend their money instead of cashing it out. But I would like an improvment for large cash out or a better deal with Blow Out for gift certificates.

Was looking at bidstart and it looks really raw for sports cards. Very few existing sales, especially compared to thier stamps and postcards
I'm going to research eCrater tonite and see what I come up with

1) Sell on here below ebay prices (you save on fees anyway)
2) Wait until Google decides to create an auction site.

Google's has had time to start an auction site; if you're waiting for them, you'll be waiting for a long time

I just read this on news.cnet.com
heres the story so you dont have to link it but it talks about a Paypal exec leaving for google PayPal's Osama Bedier has resigned after eight years at the eBay-owned company and will take a job across town at Google. In a blog post, Scott Guilfoyle, PayPal's CTO, made the announcement and introduced the new head of the platform team, Matthew Mengerink. But the departure of Bedier to Google is a big blow to PayPal, considering that both companies are racing to build next-generation payment platforms with a strong mobile component. Bedier held the title of VP of platform and oversaw PayPal's global payments platform, including mobile. Mengerink is an internal replacement for the position, having worked at PayPal for 10 years. He previously led the PayPal architecture, infrastructure, payments development, core technologies, international development, customer quality and engineering services teams. I will update when I hear more on what Bedier will be doing at Google. Story Copyright (c) 2010 AllThingsD. All rights reserved. Interesting... Now usually when things like this happen, the companies change for the new head's liking
I wonder if higher Paypal fees are in our future? If Bedier (Osama, really?) can get something going at Google very quickly, that would definately be a plus for sellers Competition creates lower prices, ALWAYS

Moneybookers still not available in the US, correct? Funny how other countries can use that on ebay as an alternative.
I think google checkout really looks like it could compete with PPal.

I think comc looks to be a great side for trading and augmenting a collection. I'm not sure that anyone is ready to take on Ebay, however, when it comes to making money.
A large part of ebay's advantage is that it is a house hold name. For die hard collectors they are already going to be aware of sites like blowout, so the Ebay advantage is nominal, and in many ways sites like blowout already fill the void that COMC is trying to fill. For casual collectors or impusle buyers (gifts or w/e), on the other hand, they are never going to know to go to another website; they check ebay. This leaves ebay with a larger base to draw from, which leads to higher demand for products, and thus higher prices (One could argue that there is also a larger supply pool at ebay- but in my opinion the supply pool is largely driven by more hardcore collectors that are frequenting the other websites). Until a website can get widespread, household recognition it is going to be extremely difficult to errode Ebay's hold on the market. Google is probably the best bet, but as someone already mentioned, they are somewhat disincentivized by Ebay's advertizing and thus may never enter the market. It would be interesting to see if ebay could do it though, and pay for it with advertizing. Alternatively, I think a player like facebook may be able to make a run at it as well. Thus far the social networking has not been commercialized too much yet, but with the sickening amount of exposure to facebook I think it's only a matter of time, and they certainly have the recognition. Interesting stuff.

Brianaz, I know that NOW eBay can't be touched. But what I want to do is get the movement of leaving eBay started. And in 5 years, we won't need them
I'm going to find a site that works for me/us but I'll still be using eBay. But I'll only use thier 100 free monthly auctions. They'll get my 9.1% and Paypal fees, but that is it

Looks like ya'll should just stop now, no need to waste anymore time. They allow us to SPAM our COMC and eBay listings here but they will not let us SPAM anything else. Without being able to inform people of your store/listings here or elsewhere you will never get any customers. Revolution dead.

I put 1 item up on Ecrater last night just to try it out. Once you get the hang of it, it might be a good way to go. If the word can get out, maybe a few more folks will use the site. No fees means you can give deals and not take money out of your pocket. Being a collector, it will take me some time to get a lot of cards up there, but I am going to give it a try. I also plan on checking out Wensy.com and see what happens. Again if we can get the word out and get folks to at least check it out, it may be a start to collectors having other options to use..
