Ebay question

I made an offer for an item. Dealer sent back message with his email. I assume he wants to deal offline else he would have counter offered or rejected my offer.

Would anyone report this type of thing to ebay?

I wouldn't report it. I'd do it off ebay, as long as he has good feedback and you don't send the payment as a gift.

If you want the item, doing offline might lower the price or get it to the price you wanted. For the seller it means lower fees so might be able to get closer to the net he/she needs.

I am not taking chances on a $1500 purchase.

As long as your doing paypal, your still covered (provided your paying backed by a cc). so no concerns there.

So you mean having no funds in your account and using the CC to pay for an item? I bought an item this past week from a seller off-ebay, and asked for tracking on Thursday. He hasn't responded yet, so I'm a little nervous. He is from Canada though, so maybe he isn't providing tracking because he didn't ship w/ tracking?

Anyway I funded w/ my PP balance, so does that mean I'm not covered supertight? I know I could still file a claim w/in 45 days, but just wondering for peace of mind.
