I sent a small box to Canada and it cost me $22 w/ tracking to ship it. Envelopes may be diffrent. Some Post offices in Canada have a sortation plant so if you send thin envelopes there may be a chance that it may get ruined. Its probably slim to none but it can happen.

Shipped a card to Canada last night for 60 cents (Nova Scotia). It was only 90 cents to ship Sonny (Australia) his card! Unreal. Oh well, I guess with the extra money the PO is making, we shouldn't see a stamp increase anytime soon.

i just got back from the post office as i shipped one up card in a bubble mailer. due to the weight, it cost $1.31. I inquired about deliv confirmation and that is not available for that type of shipping to canada. like everyone said, if you want to track it you have to pony up the cash.
i've always sent it via USPS air mail or first class intl or whatever the hell they call it now and never had any problems. sure it takes a bit longer, but it works. |

I believe the item in question was around $300. You are really putting yourself at risk if you just send this out first class. Low end cards no problem. |

ok but that is not the point, I am talking about seller protection. There are a lot of times where I see confirmed address, but it says you are not covered by paypal protection. So even if you ship to confirmed address and get tracking you are not covered, really stupid policy.
Paypal used to be completely seller biased, then they got sued and now are completely buyer baised. The buyer is protected 100% here on ebay. Ebay is so safe buying now, I guess that is what paypal wanted to do? If you buy a lot and say something is missing you can return, if it is lost in the mail you are covered, you are covered in all cases, while the seller is screwed in all cases. |

Anything that eBay does to increase the number of people buying is fine by me. There are already too many sellers. In other words: there is too much supply and not enough demand, so whatever balances this is a good idea.
Shipping internationally is always a calculated risk. It's always easier to give advice than to take it, because the advice giver is not risking $300 on a transaction!
