What do you do on this Ebay issue??

He bought a NT RPA of Kendall Hunter from me #/25 for $100 on Ebay.

5 days later I get the following message on Ebay, "Hello. One of my buyers lost his 7 year old son to pneumonia. He has to return cards for a large amount of money. I obviously wasn't expecting this and my paypal is drastically in the negatives. Can you please cancel this transaction for the Kendall hunter. You send that email to me to cancel it and I will respond immediately which will give you the eBay back immediately. I never back out on a purchase but unfortunately I have to this time and am very sorry. I just won't have the funds for awhile. I hope u can help me. Thanks and God bless."

I opened a case against the buyer and he paid for the card. Now I get negative feedback and my DSR's hammered because I would not let this guy get away with his scam.

His Ebay ID is uniquetreasurefreak

Deal with him at your own risk.

Do you do what I did and file the case or do you cancel the transaction??

I think you did the right thing and held him accountable. I wouldn't get too discouraged. The negative only lasts a year and if you've done enough transactions it shouldn't hurt too bad. We all run in to eBay nut jobs. Just keep up the good fight.

I was in a similar situation about a year ago. The guy bought something, and then said he lost his job and could not pay for the item and wanted to cancel the transaction. His feedback didn't indicate that he was a scammer, so I went ahead and canceled the item and re-listed it.

I would contact eBay to see if they will remove the feedback. I am pretty sure you can forward all the messages to them and explain the situation.

I feel that sellers on eBay are taken advantage off way to easy...it is very frustrating...

That card is a nice one, could have sold that again for $100 easy. I would have canceled the transaction, blocked him, and posted his ID here for others to take note. You didn't deserve that negative, but unfortunately eBay won't protect you from retaliatory negs.

I would also add ANOTHER note saying that he spent $400 on Ebay after asking to cancel your auction.

Don't sweat the negative. Block the moron

Does ebay enforce every seller to have a return policy??

One of the loopholes for buyers to get out of paying can be to return a card due to wanting a refund. Or item not as described, or whatever other reasons ebay lets you return items. If buyers are going to use those reasons to get back returns and refunds then maybe cancelling the transaction will save you time and headache.

He is one of those sellers that I actually hate. (Not the OP.)

He will overpay for a rare or hard to find card and then relists it as soon as he gets it. My guess is he figured he couldn't make as much on it as he wanted on it, so decided to try and cancel. I actually tried to buy a Dan Rooney from him a while back, even offered full BV of $200, maybe even more, not sure. He would not come down from $300.

Good thing is...ended up getting one for $125 not a month later. Since then, I don't even bother with him.

I really hope e-bay will help you out.

I don't know the guy, but maybe that actually happened and he actually wanted to cancel the purchase, which is what I would have done no doubt...cant just assume the dudes lying, that's messed up.
