Any specials for February? I may be the only one but I was hoping you'd have a Nascar special since it's one of the weakest sections you have. Not to mention the Nascar season is starting up soon at Daytona. If you guys did a 10 cent listing for Nascar, I'd have thousands of inserts to send in.

I second the nascar idea. I could instantly make COMC a nascar haven for inserts.

Unfortunately, at this point, we probably won't be doing a Nascar special at this time. One of the reasons we do the specials is to get in quickly items that:
a) we sell a lot of
b) are easy to identify

Unfortunately, racing still does not sell enough to justify a reduced processing fee. Tim has an equation that he looks at as to how many we get in as opposed to how many sell, and racing has not hit that magic number yet.

That is not to say we want to stop selling racing cards. Quite the contrary, in fact. We would love to increase sales of racing. We're just trying to figure out how to get this here.

I'm sure if you had a wider selection of racing stuff the site would become more of a destination for racing collectors. Right now there is very little in the way of selection. Seems like an odd way of thinking.

oh, and honestly, the 10 cent special for nascar wouldn't even need to be done at the priority level. If it takes a month or 2 so be it.

I have a good number of racing cards listed. Nothing really to knock your socks off but what I do have I basically have to give away. Hopefully it will pick up once the season starts.

Is that the same reason you have not added non-sport? I know a lot of people have mentioned that there really isn't a good price guide for non-sport and that may be one of the reasons since how your site works.

I would think that if you just went by NSU even though the prices are all over the place it would be a start.

Awesome, it says they support anything listed on beckett.com, which is kinda vague as I dont know what non-sport beckett lists. Will they take Harry Potter cards, Indiana Jones cards, stuff like that?

Im not sure Ive never been able to figure out Beckett's website. Hopefully if they dont have a book price they will just let you put your own price on it like they do with most of the sports cards.

Ive only got 2 nonsports cards to send them....a Star Wars promo card from a few years back and a Marilyn Monroe Gold Card from the 90's Im sure those are both hot sellers...lol

Agreed, I still can't figure out Beckett's website. They really screwed it up a year or so ago. I use to go there daily and now have only been once since the change.

It took me a while to figure out the Beckett website too. Once I did figure it out though, it was a lot easier to use than it once was, and I NEVER thought I'd be saying that after the confusion when it first came out.

So I emailed beckett to see if they priced the harry potter sets and the indiana jones sets as that is what I wa shoping to send into COMC, the response I got was that they do not price those two and that non sports pricing is very limited, so I am still confused at what COMC will take as non sport submissions

The announcement on COMC.com doesn't seem to mention anything about pricing, so presumably, they'll accept anything Beckett includes in their site. Though apparently, that doesn't include non-sport CCG/TCG stuff, just generic trading card type stuff. So I guess we have to hold out for a licensing deal between T&W Media and COMC to fill in the massive gaps in Beckett's coverage.

I don't really do non-sport stuff, so this is just brain storming... but couldn't some research be done and some input be gathered from larger non-sport dealers to come up with your own price guide? Its my understanding that this is essentially how COMC came up with pricing for the Razor poker cards, isn't it?

I feel my prices are reasonable, but any offers I ever get are for 50% off of my asking price.

I make offers to people, but I make them reasonable, unless someone on here says they are accepting 50% off offers, then I take advantage of that.

Sorry about my ranting, I am just annoyed.
