So this is scary (COMC theft?)
@brentandbecca: not cool news...2nd largest COMC seller had inventory taken from his portal and placed for sell on eBay, sure hope they make this right asap
@brentandbecca: Apparently a big batch of cards submitted in were never added to his port and he has since found them on ebay by a new seller I know Brent posts here and I hope he doesn't feel like I shouldn't have made this thread but I feel the entire community should hear about this. Mods can move this if they don't feel it's in the right section. |
i doubt you'll take flack for posting this here.
I'd love to see B&B post where they found this out so I can read first-hand. |
in before the lock. ;)
|
Alright Coby, I know you have an account here...let's hear your side of the story.
|
Not good. It would be hard to prove since most people don't scan
all the cards sent in to COMC. Since I'm sure there was DC on the batch, hopefully things will work out. |
is COMC a safe place to do biz?
|
Just want to say I've never used or heard anything bad about COMC and this is in no way an attempt to slander them, just saw this on Twitter and thought people should be aware.
|
I will let the seller speak for himself when he is ready, he has been patiently trying to resolve this, but still nothing yet
Those of us who know of this issue and other previous issues hope that bringing it to light will help him and give comc a chance to make it right I know there are many questions but it would only be speculation at this point to make assumptions |
Wait so what happened?
|

Apparently someone sent in a large batch of cards to COMC, they were never listed. The person then saw that same batch of cards on Ebay for sale by somone. |

I have heard of a few smaller issues that I believe were all corrected, so hopefully this will also be corrected much faster than it has been already |
If it comes to light that something of this nature has been happening, I'm assuming it is merely a bad apple within COMC rather than the company as a whole being a party to it. Unfortunately every business is vulnerable to this type of corruption.

I think this is the case as well, there's no way the company would be allowing or taking part in this (I would be shocked otherwise) Just some employee thinking they can get away with something. Unfortunately though if it turns out to be true this can and probably will be really damaging to their business. |
This is an unfortunate read as their business model is built on trust IMO. I have read that they have hired quite a few people over the last couple months, like the above poster said..maybe just a bad apple. I always note about 50 of the cards I send in for each shipment ranging from low to high value and each and every one has made it into my port. I will say that anytime I have ever had an issue or concern whether major or minor, it was dealt with quickly and always to my satisfaction.
|
Couldn't have been that the package was stolen while in the mail and never got to comc in the first place? Maybe got delivered to another address and the recipient just listed them on eBay? How would comc have to deal with a situation in that case??
|
I'm a fairly large seller on COMC, as some of you know. I've been in the top 3 and currently rank 19th with these stats:
Items in Inventory 16,921 Total Book Value $194,186.85 Items w/o Book Price 1,513 Total Asking Price $278,674.23 Items w/o Asking Price 0 Items Not for Sale 1 Items Ready to Ship 0 Items Sold 9,331 I'm no where near as big as the seller involved, but I trust that this is a rare incident as I have never had an issue like this, and I've been with COMC for years. I hope this gets resolved as quickly as possible, but from the sound of it, it might take some time. I for one will be patiently waiting. I'm not worried one bit about my inventory. |

I don't think it has to be damaging. I believe it could also strengthen it depending on how they handle the situation. If it's handled quickly and professionally with a strong stance on issues such as this as a whole, I can see people feeling more secure knowing that COMC has their back should an issue arise. If the situation is dragged out or COMC attempts to shift blame and avoid responsibility then I agree that it will significantly damage their business. They are not near big nor nessecary enough to pull the same things ebay and paypal do. |
Wow... I have a shoebox full of stuff I was sorta thinking of sending in. Now I am worried that someone else is going to get them and sell them?
|
I would say hang on until we hear everything...could have been a mail issue or one isolated incident with an employee, but again all would be speculating
I think the pressure has begun with him trying to pull inventory out and info like this getting around, as COMC just called the seller and is working with him now |
Is the seller on this forum?
|
I will also echo what wheeler said, not as big as him, or the seller involved, but I have sold over $30k on COMC in last 2 years and I have never had a problem with them. Never had missing cards in my port or anything like that. Heck I just sent in 2000+ cards and this story doesn't scare me, I am sure it will be worked out.
Is the seller on this forum?
Reading is fun. He's here. I'm just withholding any sort of judgement until I hear all the story...right now, all we have is something vague. I hope it's just an isolated incident, though. |

Is he trying to pull inventory out? |
Is he trying to pull inventory out?
you know what is going on, so why are you asking? lol He will be here tonight to tell what happened and update the situation Not to bash comc, but just so folks can be aware, most likely it is an isolated incident or at least everyone hopes so, could be a mail delivery issue, who knows, but hopefully it makes anyone selling on comc review their inventory or follow it closer for time being and helps comc grow and develop even better processes if this happened to occur on their watch |
you know what is going on, so why are you asking? lol
I'll tell you why I'm asking...because I think you're reporting information that might not be accurate. I don't remember hearing from the seller that he is trying to pull his inventory. I could be wrong. |
