I think 2 better ways to recieve additional income, would be:

Charge a 2%, or 2 cent transaction fee to every item sold. That way anything $1 or under they get 2 cents on. I sell a bunch of cards cheap enough that changing the sell price from .20 to .22 if I was worried about it, wouldnt affect my sales, nor my income enought to worry about.

Also like Fish said above, cap everything waiting to be shipped to 30 days. Then you either have to relist, or ship for the current cost. IF your shipment in a months time costs more than $25 for them to ship, they should be happy that you are making 500 plus transaction at .02 each($10).

Also they wouldnt scare so many people off on the 30th, if they keep the $25 flat for "YOUR" cards you originally shipped to them. If they want to disban that for new cards purchased, fine.... but shouldnt on original inventory.

Red face

I my self am not ready to give up on them. I don't think a 5 cent fee per card transaction will really get them where they need to be and you would still loose 20% when you cash out. I'm willing to a 20% fee on every sale and not worry about anything when you are ready to cash out. Id rather see a 4 cent fee on a 20 cent card then a 5 cent fee and would not mind a 40 cent fee on selling a $2 card I'm still making $1.50 that I probably wouldn't sell for 50 cents on ebay. If they did this though, I would like to see the monthly fee go away, I am very patient and can leave cards there indefinitely. For the 20% being higher then ebay thats not really true on if you tried selling a card for 20 cents which would be pointless and would probably loose you money. But even so, I am not spending hours scanning and putting packages together to send out and driving to post office everyday.

Just my 2 cents for what it is worth.

If they were able to find a way to reduce the $1 and less cards that are getting sent in, that would greatly increase their amount of time they'd have to do everything else correctly. I think it's a great site to unload all cards, but if it's just not economically feasible to sell cards booked for less than a dollar, I think their business would be better off.

I'm going to have to stick to my idea of charging 5-10 cents per sale in addition to the 10 cent per card listing fee. I believe this will help their bottom line greatly. They have to be moving a lot of cards daily. At 10 cents per pop, that would easily employee another person or two. I would think anyway.

This would also either eliminate or greatly reduce the number of people sending in cards that book for 50 cents or less as there'd be no money in it.

More time + more money = better shot at success and a happier customer base.

I was refering to $1 or under in sales... I have several $3-5.00 cards that I only ask .20-.50 cents on. Even at .05 cents a sale I would be fine, and adjust prices accordingly

I think your wrong here Matt (eliminating 1 and up cards). There is a fairly large market for this stuff. Even with the .10 fees, you can send in base and they'll sell at .15, so you make .05 per card. Now maybe for them (COMC) it may not be the more feasable idea, given the labor costs, but where they beat the other sites is the combined shipping. I used to use Sportlots pretty heavily but quit after I'd get 10 bucks in cards, but it would cost me another 10+ to get them as each seller only had a few of the ones I needed. These low end cards you dont see on ebay, and with the exception of sportlots (which with the 75% fees I avoid...even though in the .15 example, we are very close) its hard to find base cards outside of the forums. But for someone who typically is breaking older wax, I'm very interested in this market.

Yup....I was wrong with EE Lindy. My appologies. I had a bit of a temper that flowed onto the site. I felt inadaquate with the business i've been able to do. But, Best of luck to everyone...Hope everyone works to get a good plan to send to COMC.

You've thought I have been wrong in the past. I don't claim to be right all the time. LOL

I meant more feasible for COMC. If it's not feasible for your business, it's foolish to keep doing it, unless you don't think of your business as a going concern.

Matt, I'm not right 100% of the time either. I agree the higher the card price, the higher the % they get. Given the goal is to make money, the higher $$ cards are better for the model. I just think there is a market for the base as well. They're .10 fee allows for base to be sold on the site. Given the way they've set up the menus its very user friendly if your looking for a specific card.
