Tim,

I do like the service that you offer, my only real complaint is about not being able to use funds for budget processing because I dont have tons of extra money laying around to send the cards there and I count on being able to use that money to pay for the cards i do have to be posted. With that being said, I understand that you guys do need to make money and I know I personally would be ok if you charged a per transaction/per card sold fee of like 5/10 cents so that you guys could make money and still be able to offer the services that you offer. I dont think many people would complain about that as that could be built into our sell prices.

What about BAP (In The Game) autographs? I HAD planned on sending in 100+- BAP autographs in the near future. Your new policy put a halt to that plan as well as your new shipping policies. I am not sure I want to continue with your site when you are adding costs to the buyers. I would suggest the new shipping charges only apply to cards purchased buy sellers. Continue capping shipping at $25 for buyers and people wanting to have there cards returned. The last thing you want to do is chase off the buyers.

One thing that might help your backlog is to stop allowing your employees to list their cards until you get caught up. You stress how you do not want "junk" cards sent in, yet within the last week some cards have been listed selling for a penny And rather than wanting additional money up front to send in more cards, take the money out when the cards are received. If people are under on their counts, penalize them by a few cents for each card they are off.

BmanBfan, Great question. I just talked to Steve to find out what this conversation was about.

He was specifically referring to us shipping 500 cards. Mizzurawar had commented that he can ship 500 cards for $7-$8, and he was wonder how we weren't making money by charging $25 for shipping.

When people request 500 cards to be shipped, the postage may only be $7-$8, but there is a significant amount of labor required to go find all 500 cards and package the order securely.

Yes, with the current shipping fees, we lose money on 500 card shipment requests. As stated in an earlier reply, it costs us about $0.15/card to ship large orders. That is about $75 for a 500 card order. So we lose about $50 when people request 500 cards to be shipped and only pay $25. That is why we are changing that portion of our shipping fees.

That said... I assume your question was more about how the company as a whole is doing. For a young startup in a bad economy, we are doing amazingly well. We are roughly breaking even. This allows us to maintain our current business, but it makes growth challenging. That is why we are looking for ways to bring in more revenue and keep up with the demand.

I would be completely happy if you used my store credit the day you received my cards instead of waiting until the day may cards were ready to be priced. I'd much rather that than having to include another payment when I have quite a bit of store credit already. When you receive my cards, you could do a quick count, and deduct my store credit.

Also, I'm sure you have read it already, but to help with cash flow, why not charge a 5 cent fee for each sale? That would help things out wouldn't it?

Just a couple thoughts.

I sold a card for a penny. I do not work there. Some cards just will not sell for 10 cents. I will take a hit on a card or two.

If you reduced your listing to $.01 did you receive any $.005 (half cent) offers?

I am not referring to cards at 95% off. This is a prime example that was recently listed, give me a break!

why not disallowing base cards all together and allowing only inserts/rc's/parallels/autos/gu only? if you want to encourage better quality cards coming in, then prevent it all together by not taking them in.

I will have to agree with you on that not because they list their own cards on there, more because some of the cards they list dont meet their own standards for what can be added to the site.
