The blog post states that the new changes don't go into effect until March 31, and anything postmarked before March 30 is under the current fees/policies. So send 'em tomorrow! I'll be sending another big lot next week myself.

Tim,
Thanks for joining man...this really helps us out. Most of us felt for a long time that the users were not being heard and that we just saw increases in fees and it started to be so complicated that I wanted to pull all my cards off the site just because of that reason.
I was too the point where I didn't know If i sent in 500 cards if i was going to be cattle drivin into a priority service that was going to charge me 20 bux more than I had anticipated because I was confused about where all the fees were going to hit me from.

The fact that you are on here and talking to us speaks volumes!!!! I know you guys work hard and are very stand up guys. But I felt that I was losing control of how I could do business with you so i got spooked and decided i wanted to pull out entirely out of the game before the 31st.

Thanks again for working with us!
Mizz

I am glad that this community exists. I have been trying to leave it as unbiased by direct CheckOutMyCards employee input as possible, but it looked like now was a good time to officially join the community.

I will try to use your input more to help guide our decisions. You guys do offer a wealth of knowledge and valuable input. I look forward to letting you help shape the future of CheckOutMyCards.com.

Ok thanks I see new on the blog now. The only problem is according to Tim there might be a 3-6 month backlog of cards, so you might as well send in those football cards cause they won't be up till September.

Cards reduced again...most .25!!

I couldn't find the answer to this on the site, but is there a certain % you are only allowed to reduce your card to? I had some cards that I tried to reduce to .25 but a message appeared that it had to be more than .25...so I put them at .26. Is it tied to BV? Anyone?

I'm keeping my prices the same!...and still selling cards on a regular basis.

Just had to let everyone know. LOL I don't want anyone to miss out on something I have that they want because they think I too might reduce prices in line with a "fire sale".

To me, by sellers using store credit you are ensuring that they will stick around as they keep rolling over the money into new batches of cards. When we have several hundred or in some cases several thousands of dollars sitting in our account I can't see sending in "new" money. If a cash out wasn't hit with a 20% fee then I wouldn't mind sending in new money but it seems ridiculous when I already have money in my account and then I'm just creating a bigger balance to pay fees on. I am perfectly fine with having money taken out of my store credit as soon as my shipment gets there even if the batch won't be posted for several months.
Not sure if I already addressed this on this forum or not... The problem is that at $0.10/card we are getting twice as many cards as we can handle. So we need to double our staff in order to keep up with the current demand. Finding, hiring, and training new employees is very expensive.

We are trying to figure out ways to increase revenue enough that we can afford to hire about 6 more employees over the next couple months. Here are some of the ideas that have been proposed.

- Charge a $0.05 - $0.10 transaction fee when a card is sold
- Put a lock on the processing fee funds when the cards arrive
- Require that the budget processing fee is paid out of pocket and up front
- Increase the budget processing fee to $0.15 but allow store credit
- Add another processing service level that is $0.15 and guaranteed 2 months
- Put a temporary freeze on new submissions through the budget processing service when the backlog hits 3 months
- Increase the average wait time for the budget processing service to 6 months
- Displaying ads on the site (we are testing this now)
- Charging for premium services such as featuring your cards on the spotlight
- Selling supplies and wax
- Partnering with sites like Blowout Cards so that you can use your store credit to buy their products
- Letting people use their store credit to invest in the site or to sponsor their favorite new features

I REALLY like these ideas...

- Add another processing service level that is $0.15 and guaranteed 2 months (assuming store credit can be used)
- Put a temporary freeze on new submissions through the budget processing service when the backlog hits 3 months
- Partnering with sites like Blowout Cards so that you can use your store credit to buy their products
- Letting people use their store credit to invest in the site or to sponsor their favorite new features
