A week or so ago a few of you commented that you would be willing to use store credit to help pay for features that you would like to see on the site... well here is an opportunity.
I am looking at developing a tool that you will be able to download and help manage your asking prices in bulk. You will be able to do the following types of things. - Download your entire online inventory - Perform searches on your local, downloaded inventory - Search for cards without asking prices - Search for cards that have been on the site a long time - Search for cards from particular shipments that you sent us - Search for cards that meet other criteria that you tell me is important You will be able to perform the following actions on any search results or on all cards in your inventory - Drop prices by a certain percentage of their asking price (e.g. drop prices of cards on the site for 3 months by 10%) - Set prices to a certain percentage of the book price (e.g. start all unpriced cards at 50% off) - Set prices to a fixed price (e.g. Set all cards with a book value of less than $1 to $0.25) After you have made all of your desired changes, you will be able to preview all of the price changes, and then push them live to the site. You may also be able to perform other bulk operations like flagging items to be shipped or donating them to charity. This should be a big time saver and help you minimize fees and maximize your sales potential and profits. How would you want to pay for such a tool? - Should there be a monthly subscription fee? - Should there be a fee per 100 price changes? If so, how much? - Should this tool be reserved for some elite accounts that reach some minimum requirements? - Other ideas? |

I love the idea. Not sure how to go about pricing it though, but here's another idea:
Charge a fixed fee, say $5, each time someone wants to use it. Maybe the $5 would be good for a 24 hour use of this service. I think people would pay per use, especially if they had a block of time they could continue to use it. I'm not sure being locked in to a monthly fee will work for everyone. But who knows. Personally, I'd rather pay as I used it. It took me nearly 3 hours to adjust prices on 900 cards I had listed. Being able to pay a fixed price, like $5 to save me 3 hours is an extremely cheap price. My time is easily worth many multiples of that $5.

That tool sounds great, but I am not too sure if I would be willing to pay for it in order to use it. For a comparison, eBay has the Turbo Lister tool that is free to use for eBay sellers. If there winds up being a fee for the COMC tool, I agree with mwheeler27 that it should be based on usage, not a monthly fee to have access to it.
As for allowing only certain sellers to use the tool, would less usage of the tool benefit COMC in anyway? If not, then I do not see a need to limit who has access to it.

Another idea that I would like to see would be a "portfolio buyout" option. This would enable a potential buyer to purchase or make an offer on all of the remaining cards in another user's portfolio.
I think this would be very helpful for sellers trying to clear out there last couple hundred or so cards and would be good for sellers as they would potentially be able to pickup a large quantity of cards at a rather discounted rate.

speaking of that, anyone want the rest of the cards I have on there? Would like to clear them out before my new cards are added.

Tim, I am with MWheeler on the time frame. I would be happy to pay a set fee for a 24 hr usage. I try to review my card prices every 2 weeks or so. I think this would go over well. If the per month fee were reasonable, I would consider it also.
