They must be really trying to catch up on stuff, I just had the last of my lot posted today, 2 weeks later than initially quoted, but I find it hard to complain when in in the past 2 weeks I've had almost 3000 cards posted!

I will be dropping prices on my remaining inventory tonight. No offers will be refused as I need about $10 for fees on my next batch that I'm sending in.

There are a lot of sellers on the site that seem to be using the site for quick sales and are very concerned with selling off every card before storage fees come into play. Others of us are more focused on the long term and aren't concerned by the penny per month storage fees on any given card, so those sellers are going to be less likely to just automatically accept all offers. Many of the sellers have a certain amount invested into each card based on the cost of the inventory and fees, and if an offer is less than that amount then the offer is rejected because we'd either not be making anything or losing money on the card. I welcome all offers, but I rarely set my prices at twice what I am willing to take to where I can accept all 1/2 price offers. If I reject or counteroffer, its nothing personal. Similarly, I buy a lot of cards at 'regular' price if they are cards I can use and are priced at what I can pay. If you have a card I can use priced above what I can pay, I will submit an offer. If you can accept it, great! If not, I understand. The only time I really submit offers of 50% are when I read a seller specifically say they will accept those offers on here, or when a 50% offer is still around 50% of book value or higher. I think one thing that sellers start to dislike is when a buyer makes a lower offer on a card regardless of what the card is already priced at... even if its a price you are willing to pay. Plus, submitting an offer for a 'hot' card or player may remind that seller they have the card and that it is underpriced for the current market conditions. So if you offer less on a card of a hot player that is already reasonably priced, you definitely take the chance of the seller bumping the price up to be where the market is for the player/card now. But generally, I think people need to be less emotional and not take offense. Perhaps if sellers would just price cards at what they would take for them and/or buyers would just pay the price they are willing to pay (even if it means no discount) then everyone would be happier?
This is exactly how I feel.

I did an experiment with a few cards that I had multiples of. I listed the first one at 50% of book. It sold for 25% of book because I accepted the low-ball offer. I then priced the next one at $1 under book. Guess what...it sold at 50% of book. LOL I then price the remaining card at 75% of book and rejected all offers until it finally sold, just a few days later, at my full asking price of 75% of book.

Please don't get offended if I don't accept your offers. I have accepted some just because I didn't want to offend the person offering them. However, I'm only going to sell my cards for what I'm willing to part with them for.

Great discussion!

But the storage fees are only for cards you purchase and try to resell there right? If you send in cards the way I understand there won't be storage fees?

I think the following is accurate...

Storage fees (1 cent per card per month) are taken out at 12:01 AM PST on the first of every month for cards subject to the fee. When you buy a card and reprice it, it is automatically eligible for storage fees. Cards sent in that still belong to the original owner have no storage fees for the first 3 "months" (3 first days of the month) and after that, they are subject to storage fees each month after the 3rd. However, cards priced $0.25 or less are never subject to storage fees regardless of the situation.

I know this probably will not affect me, but the "months" thing will tick me off if I have some left after this next batch. I was supposed to get them up on the 7th and if they go up on the 26th I will really only have two months rather than three. Now that I say that, they won't go up until the next month. LOL. Except that I am not.

Prices lowered on lots of cards. Many cards under $0.50!
Still at 5% of my 140 card batch that is estimated for 6/17/09.
April 21st is my one year on COMC!

Can anyone else not lower their prices below about 95 percent off? Like I was trying to price my 4 dollar cards at 20 cents each but it wont let me, lowest I can go is 21 cents.

You can do it, but not from 'Manage inventory'. You've got to click into each card individually and then click on the "Manage Price" button. You can set whatever price you want from there.
