Can't take credit for the idea, someone else mentioned it a few months back. I was reading a what Tim had written about the shipping changes and the BO thing just popped back into my head. I think it would benefit both parties greatly. BO could have a banner on COMC and visa-verse. Its a win-win for both IMO.

I think this would be a great concept for sellers on COMC, but I don't know that it would work well for COMC or potentially even for BO. As it stands, COMC essentially controls 20% of all credit on the site, as credit can't be removed without COMC getting its 20% cut. If you add the ability to spend store credit on BO boxes/cases, not only would more money be moving away from COMC but its unlikely they'd be able to even get their regular 20% cut. BO probably isn't making enough on their boxes to take a 20% hit themselves. So it would likely have to be some combination of BO giving COMC a % back on all sales made this way PLUS a "tax" on top of the regular box prices that sellers would pay directly to COMC so that the combination still allows COMC to get their 20%. But the additional cash flow away from the site alone may be enough of a reason for COMC to not pursue this. It would be a great option for us sellers, but putting myself in Tim's shoes I don't really see this working without a lot of concessions from BO.

Maybe I am just a little ADHD, but reading novels consistently annoys me. I want the information quick and concise. I do appreciate the great info. It just seems like a little much sometimes.

Mike - This may not be a perfect way to do it, but here is my idea. COMC takes 7.5-12.5% extra from box purchases. BO kicks back 2-4% of box or case price. That way BO is getting more box purchases and COMC is not losing much money on the cashout. Plus, you figure that a good chunk of the cards that are being purchased on BO are going to end up back at COMC, continuing the cycle.

Yeah, I think that sounds reasonable if both companies can come to terms similar to those you listed, and I too really think it would be a great alternative for sellers. I just wonder how it might effect COMC's cash flow. Similar to a bank, I kind of doubt 80% of everyones funds are just sitting around doing nothing... but who knows, maybe it is. But introducing an option to buy wax with store credit is likely to generate enough interest for a LOT of store credit to exit the site... likely more so than the number of people doing straight cash-outs. I just wonder what that exiting cashflow would mean to COMC's operations, if anything.

It takes a lot of labor to find, verify, and securely package 500 cards. Maybe we should call this a packaging fee and offer free shipping.
But if the buyer is buying a lot from one seller than your costs are not that high. The fees are fine if someone buys 100 cards from 100 sellers. But for a buyer that buys 100 from a hand full of sellers the fees are out of line, especially if they are all from one seller. Maybe the fees should be based on the number of sellers rather than the number of cards...

Is it possible for us to leave a message for the buyers? Such as a note to buyers to use the best offer option to take 25 cents off each card to cover the shipping with X# of cards or money being spent. And even better would be a way to communicate with the declined best offers.

Default BmanBfan Offer on COMC.....

Hey BmanBfan,

I didn't mean to reject your offer it was late an I hit the wrong button. I was gonna counter your offer at $1.50. If you still want the 2 cards please re-submit your offer and I will accept. Sorry for the mishap.

Sold my last two cards from the February postings. Now I just have to wait until my next batch gets posted. It has seemed like so long since I did real business on COMC. It will be fun pricing and getting all ready again.
