also, i know tim said that the shipping is going to be quicker, how about cards being added to the site? Are you guys hoping to get back on schedule soon or will take you guys a while to catch up? Right now, my cards were due on the 7th and it just changed that the expected date is the 26th. While it is not a huge deal, it may effect how many cards i send there in my next shipment.

Lots of "cheapies" I'm looking to get rid of......would love an offer for the whole bunch. Lots of football rookies, baseball stars, etc. Currently over $2000 BV for $240. Getting ready to send in a large lot of cards and I'd love to clear as much of this older stuff out as I can!

yeah, it was pushed back 5 days today. Its not that it takes 2 months to list for budget, its that the deadlines arent met. And while I know i could move up to the faster service, Im not inclinded if they are going to be late.

I agree with you there. I might look at getting a quicker service for some of the nicer cards I am thinking about sending in, but I guess I just wait and have my cards pushed back two weeks, because they are fulfilling others that are in the new service and have actual due dates that they have to follow.

At the very least you should list how many sellers the buyer has bought from, that would help with the perception that the shipping is too high if they have bought from several dealers.

We are not likely to add a way for people to communicate directly on our site in the near future, but that said, I am aware of the reasons why people commonly need to communicate when trying to negotiate offers. I am planning to make several updates to the offer system so that people can have a much better experience.
I did not mention filtering the messages because that would be a given, even if you were to allow them on declined offers I would expect them being approved.

Default Thanks COMC!!! Most fun collecting since the boom years!!

I am relatively new to the site as my first batch was posted in March and wanted to say hello to everyone and give my thoughts since I've been here.
I have been collecting since 1982 and have really enjoyed this site the past six months.

I came across the site in December as I was looking for a 1962 football short print for a friend. I did not find the card on ebay and the beckett marketplace wanted full value. So to google I went, and low and behold I found the $25 card for 50% on COMC! (As strictly a buyer for the first two months, I never thought I was being overcharge on shipping).

In the next couple months, I made several more purchases before deciding to sell on COMC. After I decided to sell on the site, I impatiently waited the two months for my first batch to go live. During that time, I bought a couple hundred cheap cards on the site and have flipped a number of them. The vast majority I won't ever have shipped back as it won't be cost effective and am very happy with having a virtual collection. (Very fun and addictive and was possible due to the fact there is no transaction fee on buying or selling!!! I hope this never changes!)

I have since sent in three more batches (900 cards) that have not gone live yet. This time, I am patiently waiting for them to be added. A big credit will go to the recent addition of the processing status. As most people, I'm disappointed when the deadline is not met, but knowing ahead of time a "new" anticipated date saves me and comc from repeated emails after the initial deadline passes.

My thoughts as a seller:

The shipping is not out of line and don't quite understand the recent threads saying so. As a frequent buyer on beckett, I thought I was overpaying on shipping as if I had a card in my cart from ten different dealers, the shipping was over $20. On COMC, the same scenario costs $5.25.

The easiness to locate specific cards on this site is fabulous. I believe it's the best database management anywhere on the web.

Customer service has been above average as it's easy for a buyer to talk to someone live. The time I spoke with someone in the office was a pleasant experience as I felt the person on the other end really cared about customer satisfaction.

As for fees, I do not wish to be charged to help subsidize a buyer's shipping fees as I do not believe they are out of line. If a buyer makes an offer on one of my cards, I have accepted it the majority of the time and feel that way I do subsidize their shipping! As a buyer, I am paying for an upload fee, a maintenence fee, a 20% cashout fee and shortly a bulk editor software fee. Four fees is enough and would rather not pay a fifth or sixth fee for a card that I have already subsidized by only asking 50% of book value.

I was disappointed to have to pay my upload fee upfront. I have accepted it but have trouble rationalizing paying for a service at least two months in advance of it happening.

Anyways, enough of my long thread and thanks again COMC and all the sellers on the site that make it a great experience!!!!!
