We would all love to see the shipping capped at $25 or $30, but I don't know that it's economically feasible. I am still all for the seller paying some of the shipping costs for each card sold in order for the buyers to get a break on shipping.

Hopefully some of our suggestions won't fall on deaf ears. I don't think the are/will.

I really understand the challenge that high shipping costs play in selling large amounts of cards. It really should not matter if you are getting a good total price, but the mind has a tough time getting over $28.00 shipping for 100 cards.

I would suggest that shipping charges be reduced by a combination of things: increased initial listing fee to $.20 which help weed out all of these 15 cent selling price cards, reduced shipping based on amount spent (e.g. $5.00 free shipping for each $100 spent) and give the seller the ability to flag individual cards for free shipping.

When someone cashes out they are paying the shipping cost and then some. What they need to do is charge a fee for flipping, to cover the cost of physically moving the card to the new seller. And then they need to give a discount on shipping when a buyer buys multiple cards from the same seller.

I am personally having my best month so far with 300 cards sold and counting. I have done so accepting very few 50% offers and the majority of the cards are removed from the site. And better yet over 100 of them were hockey cards.

So if no one cashes out, no shipping fees are being paid?

Obviously I don't agree with you. That 20% is an agreed upon amount in order for COMC to do all the work for us.

I too am having a good month. Today alone I have sold $98.95 worth of cards, and the day's only half over.

As long as we are back on suggestions I have a few more. I would like the ability to either accept offers or not on individual cards prior to listing, setting the percent would be a nice bonus also. And maybe have a limit on the number of offers for an individual card similar to Ebay.

I would also like to see another option for cards in your account that you do not want listed for sale, maybe a hold option. I have multiples of some cards and would prefer an easier way to set them off-line until the others sell without them being mixed in with the cards I have purchased.

The shipping fees are being paid by the buyers, the same as they are anywhere else, nothing to be confused about.

You are correct, the 20% is agreed to by us to do all the work for us, such as shipping the cards to the buyers.

The only other fee they should be adding is for flipping. That is what drives up their cost for shipping more than anything. I think it is obvious that there storing system consists of card in binders, so when a card is flipped it does not physically move. That is likely why my idea of a discount for buying from one buyer has not been added.

Hopefully we will see an even bigger spike after next weekend!

I have had a great week since adding new cards. I have had some really good sales, as I just put cards up for quite a bit more than I expected. The only thing I have not gotten is more of my cards that I have been sitting there flying out like I supposed they would. Right now, I think they should stick with what they are doing. I am loading up for a shipping special in the next month or so. Working on getting many cards that I want. So, if you have any 80's baseball or football let me know, so I can look. Looking for mostly rookies, but I am buying almost as much as I am selling right now.

I believe cards are stored in corrugated cardboard boxes, based on the size of the batch that's added. That is why we have to pay $3/batch, to cover the cost of the box. Then when the card is sold to leave the site, they look up what batch the card is in, then pull it.

I'm guessing a combination of cardsrus and pedro45kobe8's ideas are right on. Its obvious that the cards are scanned in 9 pocket pages. And if anyone has ever spent time pulling cards from pages, this can be a VERY time consuming process that would essentially just amount to unnecessary busy work. 500 cards would fit into 56 pages, which would comfortably fit into a medium sized 3-ring binder. The same theory applied to the cardboard boxes / batch costs could be applied to storing the cards in binders. In fact, it would better explain the $3 cost as a cardboard box costs about $0.25 while a 3-ring binder is more around the $3 range when bought wholesale.
