I looked today and didnt see any, but since you said you posted up another 500, I figured I'd check. Hoping my 1500 or so get posted this week, then I'll get the fun of spending an evening setting more prices But thats 2500 cards or so this month uploaded for me, so they are getting things done faster.

CMOC noob alert. What do you guys mean when you say "port". YOu can purchase a complete portfolio from someone?
Also, do you always get offers below asking, or do you usually sell a card at your asking price?

I am getting a lot ready to send there and am just doing a bit of research.

Thanks in advance,
da\/e

I sell better than half of my cards at asking prices. Of those cards that get offers, I accept about 25% of them and counter the other 75%.

I see a whole lot of autos and graded cards have been added to the site in the last month, hopefully once sellers start to lower there asking prices (I cannot believe how much of a joke these prices are) the high ends stuff will start to sell even better. I mean I see $700 cards on a common basis, then check out Ebay and they are selling for $300 constantly. I guess if you have 1,000 cards like Matt does and sell one card a month for $10 storage fee, you make a killing on an overpriced card, nice strategy (not to single you out, but I just checked some high end cards of other sellers and it was ridiculous) .

I'm probably 50/50 on offers and selling at my asking price. I normally will accept most to all offers that come my way. I will counter if I feel necessary. Porting means you can purchase someone's full portfolio. There is a button in the shopping cart when you add something to it that allows this.
Selling at asking or getting offers depends on your prices and what someone else feels the card is worth. COMC currently allows a max of 50% offers on asking prices so that means you will get a lot of 1/2 offers on your cards whether you like it or not. it is easy to counter or reject. Hope that helps.

Riiiight... Under 25 cards may get a counteroffer, but 25+ is auto accepted.

With that said, I just had some new cards post to my account that should be available shortly (sorry, no Copper Refractors )

JBS,

Ebay does not determine what a card is worth despite the overwhelming majority in this forum that think so. Just because a card sells on Ebay for $300 doesn't mean it won't sell later for $600. All it means is that the right people didn't stumble upon it at the right time on Ebay. With COMC, cards can sit there for as long as you want to pay 1 penny per month.

My strategy is to sell cards at what I'm comfortable selling them for. I list prices that I'm comfortable with, but everyone is always welcome to offer less if they wish. If I don't like what they offer, I will counter almost always. If I list a card for $100 for instance, and it takes me 2 years to sell it for that amount, it only cost me 21 cents in storage for those 2 years. Why would I want to drop my price to $50 just to save storage fees or because that's what they bring on Ebay. I'm more likely to do that after a couple of years and not care I wasted 21 cents.

I have sold nearly all my cards for more than what they bring on Ebay. In most cases, a lot more than what they would have brought on Ebay. That's the beauty of COMC.

Thanks for all of the info. I am assuming that the fees on CMOC, including the 20% credit to cash conversion is still cheaper than eBay, and that cards probably sell easier on here. The added bonus being that the actual card is scanned in more detail and there is no chance of getting stiffed. eBay is like a graveyard lately for selling cards. Everything is BIN or BO, and very few actual auctions.

Yes and I fully understand where you are coming from, as you said it only costs you 1 cent a month to list your card, that is so low compared to Ebay! But I just wish some people would do 5 minutes of research before they list their high end card, but as you said Ebay and beckett does not determine the price of the card, but 99% of buyers think so, so unless you get that 1% that really wants that card, it will sit there, but when you are getting charged 12 cents a year to list a several hundred dollar card, it doesn't really hurt your bottom line.

But not to single a card out since I can find hundred of outrageous prices here is one:
1957 Topps #95 - Mickey Mantle/BECKETT VINTAGE GRADED 3.5 - CheckOutMyCards.com
For that same price you can buy a PSA 7! And a PSA 3.5 just sold for $261.99, and better yet a BGS 4.5 sold for 202.51!!!! I am only saying cause I have a lot of money in my account and I would love to buy some of these cards for my PC and save the 20% cash out fee, but this card should only be like $200.

Yeah, I agree with you on many of those cards. What I have for sale, there aren't many out there, so I can afford to sit and wait.
